Tonight I'm observing the board meeting of YK1 in Yellowknife. I find it fascinating that most boards follow many similar processes but also practice some local nuances/practices. As someone who works with many boards it is these nuances that can either enhance or detract from their role of governance. What I appreciate from boards like YK1 is their desire to see which of their practices are contributing to their governance role and which do not. Professional governance learning is a must for all boards.
