'Technical fault' On the train last month, 'we will not be able to serve sandwiches due to a technical fault...' I heard titters through the train. I get it. It sounds ridiculous but maybe a fridge is broken...? In May I received an email about our December holiday saying the pool will be closed due to a technical fault... Me: Please can you fix it in the timeframe...? No. Just the free drinks vouchers it is. Customers get frustrated if you are vague or use terminology to fob them off. My advice... be as honest as you can with your customers and they may just empathise. Give them the extra detail, they will appreciate the transparency. e.g. Our fridge has broken on the train so we were not able to safely store sandwiches for you. Please accept our apologies. We are still serving X, Y and Z. and The swimming pool leveling system has created a crack in the base of the pool. Our sincere apologies, we don't anticipate it will be fixed until next year. We understand you may be disappointed, here is a 10% refund. (This is wishful thinking) Anyone got any other examples?

With May just around the corner I need to get a couple of things done today so that I feel all prepared for the coming Month. For my business: finding some local networking groups to attend in person. Gosh this terrifies me, and I’m still not sure I’m even going to go to them yet, but if I have them in my calendar, I can at least attempt to get there! For my Family: Meal planning the dinners for the next 2 months. What I tend to do is plan 4 weeks worth of dinners that we rotate through for 2 months, it means I don’t have to plan the meals every week, because that was getting tedious, but it also means that I only have to do the food shopping lists once, I just quickly check if we are out of anything, or make a note of things we have run out of as I run out of them, and it makes meal planning and food shopping so much easier! Do you have anything on your to-do list this week to prepare you for May?

Day 3 about Tech Stack was another great session. Johann mentions that FreeAgent has a superior API than other bookkeeping softwares, but it is essential to link up integrations for the best efficiency. Mettle, RBS, Ulster, Natwest are all banks that integrate with freeAgent. 💡 I am poised to add Dext to my Tech Stack. 🌱
