The discourse around nursing shortages in healthcare is often framed as a crisis without a solution. However, what if I told you it's not about a shortage but rather a misallocation of resources? That's the argument put forward by West Monroe in their recent analysis. Why fewer superheroes and more teams? Rather than just filling vacancies, healthcare leaders need to rethink care team structures and understand the key drivers of nurse job satisfaction. Up to 50% of traditional bedside RN tasks can be performed by other skilled professionals, allowing nurses to focus on top-of-license clinical care. 🔸 Shifting the paradigm? How? 🔸 Skillset over headcount 🔸 Task realignment 🔸 Inclusive care We need empowerment through leadership development, refining staffing models, and leveraging predictive tools. Agree? How can we solve the nursing crisis challenge? Share your views in the comments. John Naccarelli Irina P. It’s National #NursesWeek — the perfect time to showcase a lead gen campaign for our healthcare staffing client Cross Country Healthcare. But before we get into that, #ThankANurse in your life this week (and every week) for the critical, compassionate, and often unseen or under-appreciated work they do every day. ❤️🩹 The industry is facing a chronic shortage of nurses that’s only been worsened in a post-pandemic world. We made this feel viscerally urgent by highlighting the absence of nurses from the workforce and a stark statistic from the client’s Future of Nursing whitepaper: 1 in 3 nurses are burnt out and plan to leave the workforce soon. By touting a very real and compelling need that our client could help fill, we reduced CPL by 87% and increased average conversion rates up to 25%. #dragon360creative #peoplefirst #adcreative #mediaagency

Want to see positive change in your healthcare organization? Ask your nurses and act on their insights. It is that simple. In 2020 I returned to the healthcare industry to create delightful experience that enabled transparency for nurses and healthcare employers to connect around full-time employment. I’ve spoken with thousands of nurses across the US and hundreds of HR and talent leaders. I’ve witnessed how healthcare employers and nurses were impacted by the pandemic including the resulting government stimulus, internal frictions created by market demand for labor, and the bitterness of discriminatory hiring practices. Through it all, I've made every positive change based upon feedback from nurses. As healthcare delivery is reshaped, I see immense opportunity ahead, specifically in nursing and allied health because I have personally learned and been inspired by the nurses themselves. #nursing #healthcare #reform #earncares

Healthcare Workforce Innovation and Technology Founder, Advisor, & Investor: Created Health System Workforce Marketplace Approach | EdTech | Social Mobility | Op Performance | Generative AI:Automation | Former CareRev
1 million nurses in the US with active license are choosing not to work at the bedside full-time. Why? The reasons are multi-factorial. How can we bring them back to the bedside? Start by allowing them to work with you on-demand with their own schedule on their terms. Allow them to alleviate their burnout, work around their busy lives, and build trust. I work with teams at ShiftMed who are helping solve a part of this societal crisis by partnering with nurses and healthcare organizations. The outcome: a health system, white-labeled, w2 local on demand marketplace infrastructure centered around the nurses …that allows RNs to be hired how they want to work on their terms - 1,2,3,…8…10 shifts per month around family concerns, on units at hospitals they prefer, etc. Burnout decreases. Trust increases. The platform is not only for RNs, but for the support staff that are the foundation the RN patient care pyramid. They need it too. Reach out via email or DM me and I will connect you with one of the dozens of healthcare systems that are all demostrating success or better yet… with the RNs and allied health workers who work on the health system’s platforms. #nurseshortage #healthcareinnovation #healthsystems #healthcare #healthcareworkforce #shiftmed #nurses #cno #healthcarecosts #nurserecruitment #hospitals #healthcareadministration

Purpose-Driven Nurse & Instructional Designer | Empowering Healthcare Education | Advocate for Nursing Excellence, Nurse Reimbursement, and Healthcare Policy Change
I'm a huge #advocate that organizations that touch the #healthcare delivery system in any way must have a #nurse on their #boardofdirectors. I signed up about a year ago to get updates from Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC) and I have to say that it's been awesome to see some of the organizations that prioritize putting nurses on their boards. For any #nursing professionals out there, if you're looking for a board to serve on, make a profile on the NOBC webpage. You'll get notified of opportunities at least a few times a month. I love this quote by healthcare #quality pioneer Don Berwick, which I recently read in a paper. You can check it out here. https://rb.gy/1gpxkp It's from 2012 but still applies today. Why do we need nurses on boards? So glad you asked! 🤣 Here are my top 3 reasons nursing must be represented on boards: 1️⃣ Clinical Expertise and Patient Care Perspective: Nurses bring a wealth of clinical expertise and a unique perspective on patient care to the decision-making process. Their direct and extensive experience with patient care allows them to provide valuable insights into how decisions will affect patient outcomes, patient safety, and the quality of care. They can advocate for policies and practices that prioritize patient-centered care and address gaps in the healthcare system that only those with firsthand experience would recognize. 2️⃣ Operational Insight: Nurses have a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare system's inner workings, including its strengths and limitations. Their insight into the day-to-day operations of healthcare services, including staffing, workflow efficiencies, and resource allocation, is invaluable for making decisions that affect the organization's overall efficiency and effectiveness. Including nurses on the board ensures that these operational perspectives are considered in strategic planning and decision-making, leading to more effective and implementable #innovative solutions. 3️⃣ Healthcare Workforce Insights: Nurses are the largest segment of the healthcare #workforce and are intimately familiar with the challenges and opportunities within the healthcare environment, including #staffing issues, workplace culture, and the impact of #technology on care delivery. Having nurses on the board ensures that these critical aspects are considered in strategic decisions, policy development, and organizational planning. Their insights can help in creating strategies for workforce development, improving employee satisfaction and retention, and ensuring the organization adapts effectively to changes in the healthcare landscape. #healthcareonlinkedin #nursesonlinkedin
