The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) has recently made a submission to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW) regarding the Bunbury area. Copenhagen Energy strongly support their advocacy for a renewable-powered Australia, particularly their focus on the huge potential of offshore wind. As ACF highlighted, “well-sited renewable energy is essential to protect nature and people from dangerous climate change.” Offshore wind, in particular, stands out as a key player in our renewable energy strategy — requiring far less land while harnessing some of the world’s most powerful wind resources. The scale of the challenges facing our planet can seem daunting, but we can all do something. Here are Some simple ways you can help reduce your impact, and help in the fight against climate change. 15-Harness Renewable Energy One of the most effective ways is to harness renewable energy. Start small by using solar power for water and room heaters, or resort to small wind turbines for power generation. Even geothermal and ground source heat pumps are available for household use. Plus, the government offers incentives for using alternative energy sources. Let's all do our part in reducing our impact on the planet. #ClimateAction #RenewableEnergy #environmentalconsulting #environmentalprotection #environmentalsustainability #environmentallyfriendly #environmentalscience #environmentalengineering #environmentallyfriendly #sustainabledesign #sustainablearchitecture #sustainablebuilding #sustainabilityreporting

Are you aware of the difference between fossil fuel energy and renewable energy? Fossil fuels like coal and oil are finite and contribute heavily to climate change. Renewable energy sources like solar and wind are infinite and have a minimal environmental impact. Making the switch to renewable energy supports long-term sustainability and energy independence. Is your business ready to transition to cleaner energy? #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #ClimateAction #TheCarbonStamp

In order to reach Australia's Net Zero targets (43% of 2005 CO2 emissions by 2030 as mandated in 2023) we have to commission 40 wind turbines per month, 22,000 x 500w solar panels per day and build an additional 10,000km of transmission. These are targets that have been set, and the people paying for them, the Australian taxpayer, should know how far we have progressed. We should be receiving monthly update reports on progress towards targets, plus what this progress has cost us. (Plus, a report on how much "firming" has been built and at what cost). These should be simply available numbers and I think we should be getting them. We need to know if the targets can be achieved, or else we cannot consider alternatives until too late. Over to you Mr Albanese and Mr Bowen.

The newly elected Labour government has lifted the effective ban on onshore windfarms. This change removes restrictive footnotes in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) that made it difficult for new wind projects to get approval. With these barriers gone, the UK can now accelerate its transition to renewable energy, helping to meet our ambitious carbon reduction goals and combat climate change. Onshore wind is one of the most cost-effective renewable energy sources, and expanding it means more green jobs and investment in local communities. This is a significant step towards a sustainable and resilient energy future for the UK. #RenewableEnergy #ClimateAction #OnshoreWind #GreenFuture #sworders #SustainableEnergy
