Helping Healthcare Organizations Find Their Next Essential Hire - Healthcare Recruiter-Southern California Specialized in Nursing and Allied Professionals
Diagnostic Dynamos: The Key to Hospital Profitability Ever noticed how the radiology department is often the bottleneck in a hospital's operations? I've seen it time and again. Rad techs are the unsung heroes, keeping diagnostic imaging and revenue flowing smoothly for hospitals. Think about it: without enough skilled techs to handle x-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, patient backlogs pile up fast. Delayed diagnoses mean longer hospital stays, reduced bed availability, and shrinking profits. From an efficiency and patient experience standpoint, filling those rad tech positions quickly is a no-brainer. A short-staffed radiology department can grind your entire operation to a halt. The takeaway? Prioritize hiring top-notch rad techs now, and I can help. They might just be the most underrated, yet vital, piece of your hospital's profitability puzzle.

Emergency/Critical Care Doctor. Physician Leader at Equum Medical. Associate Med Director at DNWest. Heart transplant recipient & organ donation advocate.
Undergoing transplant surgery and being labeled an ICU survivor not only marked the beginning of my personal health journey but also transformed my practices as a doctor. What exactly are the important things that I’ve learned over the last few years? - Clear communication between clinicians and patients is crucial. Conveying medical information clearly and validate their experiences. Acknowledging a patient's emotional and psychological needs can enhance their trust (and comfort!) in the healthcare system. - I emphasize the importance of holistic care, and that can be different for every single patient. Having been on the receiving end of medical services, I’ve learned to appreciate the balance between addressing the immediate medical needs and considering the broader impact on a patient’s well-being. Not every person wants every intervention or medication available, and that’s okay. 👍 - There’s an invaluable role of support groups when we are healing. There’s strength found in shared experiences that I didn’t fully understand prior to my transplant. I advocate for patients connecting with other patients— there should be a focus on the power of community + empathy in recovery. ❤️🩹 My personal experiences have refined my medical practice and have given me a different understanding of patient care, and I love sharing this with my fellow healthcare workers. Thanks for all of your support! #patientadvocacy #physician #transplant #medicine

We’re excited to share insights from a recent publication by Dr. Andrew Del Gaizo and Dr. Zachary Allen. They shed light on a crucial aspect of patient follow-up—the challenges faced when radiology reports contain recommendations unrelated to the study indications, leading to a high risk of patients being lost to follow-up. Leveraging artificial intelligence; nurse navigators and health systems can overcome historical challenges in tracking incidental findings, leading to improved patient outcomes. The documentary places significant emphasis on the Oklahoma Surgery Center, highlighting its distinctive approach to healthcare costs. Unlike many medical facilities, this center provides transparent pricing through bundled upfront costs. This practice not only benefits patients by eliminating uncertainties about expenses but also distinguishes the center from others in the healthcare industry. Overall, the Oklahoma Surgery Center serves as a commendable model of prioritizing both the medical and financial well-being of its patients. By offering transparent pricing and financial predictability, it enables individuals to plan their healthcare expenditures confidently, contributing to a more equitable and patient-centered healthcare experience. #ceo #cfo #healthcare #hr #documentary #employeebenefits #patientcare

I've been saying this for years... For some hospitals, positions like this have existed for just as long, but there is lack of much-needed standardization. It's exciting to hear work is being done here considering the shortages imaging professionals are experiencing now. When I was in my radiography program in the 1990s, I was hired as a "Darkroom Tech", meaning duties I was responsible for included patient transport, developing x-ray film, producing film copies, subtraction images, tracking exams for the technologists, etc. The closer I got to graduation, the more they allowed me to do things like prepare barium for exams, screen patients, help set up sterile trays for arthrograms, myelograms, and lumbar punctures, and assist with MRI patient screenings. This set me apart from the other Darkroom Techs (who weren't in x-ray school already learning these skills). I felt like I was becoming a more valuable member of the team prior to being hired as a technologist and I only wished there was a structured method to include others on the team in this training and competency. The same feels true today (minus the film/screen work). With so many technologists retiring and leaving healthcare in radiology now, with the new grad funnels struggling to keep up with the needs, the gaps must be bridged to allow hospital employees, professionals and practitioners to work at the peak of their scope of practice. Efforts like this can free them up to do just that with clearly defined roles and appropriate education and training. Who knows what the possibilities might be with patient satisfaction, productivity, and job satisfaction!

Radiologist and podcaster helping doctors learn financial topics via Doctor Money Matters (Podcast/FB group/YouTube) I also created the American Radiologists FB group (>5700 Radiologists)
As the creator of the largest social media group for American Radiologists, I have a unique vantage point on the current Radiology market and its evolving demands. Over the last 3 to 4 years, radiologists have been working significantly harder, handling more complicated studies with higher volume and acuity. This increased workload has led to a pressing need for balance and greater support from employers, practices, and institutions. It's a striking juxtaposition: while radiologists are vocal about their intensified workload and the complexities they face, many outside the field are only just beginning to grasp the severity and difficulty of the situation. The ongoing demands from patients, referring physicians, emergency departments, and administrators are exerting unprecedented pressures on radiologists—pressures that I haven't witnessed in my nearly 18 years as an attending radiologist. Understanding and addressing these challenges is crucial. Radiologists are pivotal to the healthcare system, and their well-being directly impacts patient care. It's time for a collective effort to support these essential professionals and ensure a sustainable and balanced working environment. #Radiology #Radiologist #radiologists #Healthcare #MedicalProfession #RadiologistSupport #HealthcareIndustry #MedicalCommunity #WorkLifeBalance
