Low Carbon has energised four new solar farms in the UK on the same week the country closed the last remaining coal-fired power station, becoming the first G7 country to stop using coal power. This is more than a symbolic moment, it’s proof of the energy transition in action. The share of energy coming from renewables is rising steadily. The International Energy Agency (IEA) says that renewables will generate a third of global electricity this and that could rise to more than 40% by 2028. Our four solar farms contribute to growing renewable reliance. Together it is estimated the solar farms will power the equivalent of more than 38,000 homes with clean energy and avoid approximately 40,000 tonnes of CO2e each year. The switch has been flipped, homes are still being powered, but we are not emitting greenhouse gases. Each switch that gets flipped to turn on a solar farm, or to turn off a fossil fuel power plant, brings us closer to net-zero emissions and a world powered entirely by renewable energy. These four solar farms were developed, constructed, and are now being operated by Low Carbon. We have more that will be operating later this year, and each one is critical to our goal to create new renewable energy. Low Carbon is on a mission. Together, we will power tomorrow. #LowCarbon #PoweringTomorrow #RenewableEnergy

Exciting news for Ireland’s renewable energy sector! 🌍 The Irish government has introduced the South Coast Designated Maritime Area Plan (DMAP), paving the way for offshore wind development. The first project, Tonn Nua, aims to generate 900 MW by 2030 off the coast of County Waterford, bringing Ireland closer to its clean energy goals and boosting local economies. With this growth, efficient energy storage is critical. Lithium-ion batteries, known for their high energy density and long life, are key to maximizing the potential of renewable power. As Ireland moves forward, investing in advanced storage solutions will be essential for a sustainable energy future. #RenewableEnergy #OffshoreWind #Ireland #EnergyStorage #Sustainability https://lnkd.in/er4yzV5N

What’s changed in EU clean energy since 2019? The EU has made remarkable progress in clean energy, with wind and solar power leading the way. Since 2019, these renewables have driven a significant 22% reduction in fossil fuel generation across the EU. Here’s what that looks like: ✅ Wind and solar capacity in the EU has surged by 65% (+188 GW). ✅ Solar capacity alone has soared by 113%, from 120 GW to 257 GW. This is equivalent to installing over 230.000 solar panels every single day for four years straight! This solar revolution is about building a sustainable future. The rapid growth of renewables is helping the EU reduce emissions and strengthen its position as a global leader in the energy transition. Countries like Germany, Belgium, Hungary, and the Netherlands are proving that a clean energy future is within reach for all Member States. Together, let’s build a greener and more sustainable Europe. 🌱💪 Learn how at: www.otovo.com #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #WindPower #SolarEnergy #EUClimateAction #EnergyTransition
