I should not hear "we are looking for students with finance experience, or, we are looking for students with marketing experience, or, we are looking for students with arts management experience" from anyone hiring an intern. People - we all have got to start SOMEWHERE! Hiring teams have lost sight of what an internship actually IS. It's NOT... a... job. You want an intern? That means YOU have to work. This is your opportunity to give back and teach. Sure the intern can -and should be of help and service. BUT, that student is YOUR APPRENTICE. Teach them what to do. Mold them on the ways of work. Absolutely agree with Shivangi Tiwari Doing an internship helps bridge the gap between theory and its actual implementation in the real world. A college student should do as many internships as possible, once a semester at least. It's not necessary that it should always be a paid one, gaining professional experience at college level itself is a payment, but definitely that doesn't lessen the impact of a paid one.
