Every day presents us with an opportunity to challenge ourselves and improve. Focusing on continuous challenge, it’s important to remember that growth often comes from building on foundational basics rather than always seeking out the brand new shiny objects. Here are some key principles to keep in mind and how they relate to B2B sales and marketers: (1) Master the Fundamentals: True progress lies in mastering the basics. By continuously refining and improving our foundational skills, we create a strong platform for future growth and innovation. I love seeing my network get new certifications in all things digital, ai, and automation. - In B2B sales and marketing, confirming receipt of a client email is so simple, yet often overlooked. You might think it is just about that email, but it sets the tone for how you plan on working with everyone in the future. How you do the little things is how you do everything. (2) Consistency Over Novelty: While consistency in foundational principles leads to lasting success, there's nothing wrong with consistently trying novel things. Embrace new ideas while staying true to your values. Create an environment where everyone knows it's okay not to get it perfect and to keep trying new things. Regularly improving basic habits can lead to significant long-term benefits. -In B2B sales and marketing, being clear is highly valued by your recipients. We work in an environment full of acronyms and ambiguity; it is time to re-read what you're trying to say and make sure that it is abundantly clear. As Leonardo da Vinci said, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." (3) Incremental Improvements: Small, incremental improvements in our core skills can accumulate into major advancements over time. By focusing on refining what we already know, we build confidence and competence that can propel us forward. -Just as a chef seasons a dish with a blend of familiar salts and spices, we can achieve excellence by continuously refining our foundational skills in communication, emerging technology, program measurement, and incremental innovation. Let’s not lose sight of the importance of foundational basics in our journey to growth and success. In B2B marketing, filling your sales funnel with high-quality opt-in leads has been a long-standing practice. However, there are evolving ways to create custom audience segments, new supply chain media providers to generate leads, and more ways to engage buying teams throughout the full funnel. #ContinuousChallenge #MasterTheBasics #GrowthMindset #FoundationalSkills #KeepImproving #B2BMarketing

🌟 The Secret to B2B Success: Decoding Buyer Intent 🌟 Understanding 'Buyer Intent' is more than just a buzzword— It's the cornerstone of smart marketing and sales strategies. Here's a deeper dive: 📊 Understanding Buyer Behaviour: At its core, buyer intent is about interpreting signals from potential customers. These signals, ranging from website visits to content engagement, are goldmines of information, revealing the readiness of prospects to make a purchase. 🎯 Strategic Lead Prioritisation: Traditional lead scoring models are often hit-and-miss. Buyer intent data, however, adds a layer of precision, helping you identify and prioritise leads who show real interest in your offerings. 🚀 Refined Marketing Strategies: By tapping into this rich intent data, your marketing campaigns can be more tailored and impactful. This means delivering the right message to people at the right time. 💡 Enhanced Sales Alignment: Sales teams armed with intent data can approach potential customers with confidence, knowing they are engaging with leads who have already shown an interest in what they have to offer. 📈 Measurable ROI: Finally, the actual value of understanding buyer intent is reflected in your ROI. By focusing your efforts where they count, you save resources and receive more meaningful and profitable customer interactions. I encourage you to dive into the world of buyer intent. Finally, the marketers' shift from an acquisition-only mindset I am celebrating this finding from LinkedIn's B2B benchmark report: Why? Because the focus of budget and time that marketing teams spend is shifting from a pure acquisition focus to understanding the importance of retention. The old adage of '𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐧𝐞' is very true - why is that: 𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬: Retaining existing B2B customers avoids the high expenses of lead generation, nurturing and sales cycles. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: Loyal customers often make larger, repeat purchases and expand their contracts, increasing long-term profitability. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 = 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬: Established relationships streamline decision-making, leading to quicker renewals and upsells compared to starting from scratch with new leads. 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫: Satisfied, long-term customers are more likely to refer your product to others, generating high-quality leads with lower acquisition costs and a higher chance of conversion. I have so many conversations about fixing the leaky bucket before spending more on acquisition because, honestly, you're literally throwing money away. 💬 If you're worried that this might be happening then drop me a DM, love to chat more about this topic! #linkedinb2bbenchmarkreport2024 #b2bconversion #retention #leakybucket #marketing #startupgrowth #scaleupgrowth

“In B2B, this won’t convert.” Before your prospects even contact you, what do they already know about you? It could be through a landing page, a social media post, a comment, or even a blog post. If you’re not focusing on these touchpoints, you’re likely missing out on countless untapped opportunities. So, don’t rely on AI or cheap content that can’t effectively present your value proposition. You’re not only ruining your reputation but also wasting money on marketing. Most B2B companies have data no one else has….from their customers. If you can anonymize it, pull insights and talk about it in a way your buyers can use it and share it, they will and you’ll win. Not enough companies are doing this. I know it’s hard, I’ve tried and it seems like there is always something missing or the data is skewed, but the ones that figure it out, are winning. We’ve all seen the Vendr and Metadata reports which are awesome and get shared A LOT. HockeyStack is currently putting on a masterclass on how to do this. They’re taking their de-anonymized customer data and creating really interesting content from it. Stuff their buyers give a sheet about such as 👉LinkedIn benchmarks down from platform to revenue. 👉 Pricing, demo and case study conversions rates 👉 B2B SaaS marketing and revenue benchmarks In a world of AI, boring, repetitive content, creating content from data no one else is powerful and people share it, which is what you want right?? P.S. not an ad, just giving kudos where kudos are due #b2bmarketing #demandgeneration
