[NGUOI LAO DONG NEWSPAPER - SPRING EDITION 2024] 🎓 TRAINING WITH A STRONG EMPHASIS ON PRACTICALITY, STUDENTS ENTER THE "SCOPE" OF BUSINESSES In recent years, to closely align with the labor market, several universities, colleges, and vocational schools under the EQuest Education Group (EQuest) have implemented a dual-training model that integrates vocational training with the job positions within the university's curriculum. Up to 70% of the study time is dedicated to practical activities, real-world experiences, and internships at businesses. This model has proven to be effective, as students from EQuest's universities, colleges, and vocational schools find employment immediately after graduation. Many students are even sought after by businesses while still in school. For example, at Phu Xuan University (PXU) in Hue, nearly 100% of students find employment within 12 months of graduation; American Polytechnic College (APC) has an impressive 89% employment rate within 3 months of graduation; approximately 90% of students from Saigon Polytechnic College (SPC) secure stable employment right after completing their studies. Great session today as I directed the programme for King Cetshwayo District Life Orientation Teachers Seminar, thank you University of Zululand. The conversations and input made clear how important it is to fortify the Department of Basic Education's and Institutions of Higher Learning's increasing symbiotic connection. It is necessary to intervene in grade 9 before choosing subjects for grade 10, rather than delaying career counselling and subject selection until later in grade 12. Among the many insightful ideas were psychological interventions for teachers to address problems in the classroom. A lot of wisdom was imparted to allow us to better serve our learners whilst recognising teachers in our strides. There was emphasis on how crucial impact measurement is to data-driven decision-making in order to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives.
