Remote Work: Where Pajamas Are the New Power Suit, Pets Are Your Colleagues, and the Only Traffic Jam is in Your Kitchen! Embracing the days of the dreaded commute and stuffy office attire, say hello to the world of remote work. Comfort meets productivity, and your furry friends are always ready for a brainstorming session (even if it's just chasing their tail). So, grab your favorite mug, snuggle up with your coziest blanket, and let's embark on this remote work adventure together. Because when the world is your office, every day is a new opportunity for creativity, connection, and maybe just a little bit of chaos (we won't judge if your 'desk' is also your dining table). Who knew the future could be so comfy, eh? 🚀✨

Embracing the new world of remote work with your furry friends sounds like a dream! Definitely agree on the comfort meeting productivity part. #remotework #virtualassistant
The work landscape has drastically changed in the past few years and we've fully embraced it.
We're a remote business and here are three reasons why we 💚 remote working...
1. Productivity is super-charged. With no office distractions, out team members choose to spend their time on focused tasks. Our founder, Corinne Thomas, tracks every hour she spends at work so she can see at a glance what's costing her time and what she need to work on.
2. Face-to-face time is highly valuable and treated as such. When we catch up with the team and clients in person it's strategic and extremely worthwhile. No pointless meetings or coffees just for the sake of it. Most of our client work is done remotely and it benefits everyone involved. We would cost a lot more if we had to fund an office as well!
3. Flexibility = freedom. We all benefit from living how, where and when we want to. There's an inherent freedom and autonomy that comes from this which we all hugely benefit from. We have trust and believe in a policy where we're judged on results rather than the exact number of hours we've spent in the office.
How are you working and would you change anything? If so, why?
We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

How to keep motivated - Remote workers edition 🌟
Living in Devon presents it's unique set of challenges for collaboration due to being so far away from the hustle and bustle.
Fortunately for me, I have the wonderful Keira Bailey living on my doorstop.
Regularly this allows us to get together in person to not only motivate one another, but also extend our collaboration beyond the confines of the remote office walls.
We always make a point to step out for lunchtime walks. These moments are not just breathers from our busy schedules, but they also spark inspiration and creativity.
So if you're ever having a blank moment, find a colleague, friend, dog or take yourself out for a walk. You'll find the creative juices will soon start flowing the minute you step away from your desk.
P.s this image is only relevant as it signifies Devon in my eyes 🤣

- You’re a master of the "I’m in the office" Zoom background.
- Your home office has better snacks than any company cafeteria.
- You dread the words: "Let’s hop on a quick call."
- You’ve become a pro at *pretending* to have bad Wi-Fi when the meeting could’ve been an email.
- You find yourself wearing a nice shirt but sweatpants 90% of the time.
- You’ve developed a Pavlovian response to the sound of Slack notifications.
- You time your errands during the day when everyone else is at work.
- You haven’t worn “real shoes” in months.
- You cringe when people talk about their "long commutes"
- You’ve caught yourself answering emails at 10 PM because, well, why not?
- You miss spontaneous brainstorming... but *not* the office gossip.

Don’t settle for less. Remote work is here to stay ✨

I saw this post, and it got me thinking about how differently people execute roles remotely. I’m a firm believer that remote work is the best thing for me and my current situation (with frequent visits and virtual meetings to infuse team spirit). And after 7 years working remotely, these are MY signs that I’m a remote worker - so different to Marija’s:
- I could never take a call anywhere other than my desk due to the fear of being asked to contribute, my headset not working, or coverage dropping in the middle of it.
- I have a dedicated workspace in a room where I can close a door and not be disturbed. 0 distractions is what I need to keep my attention on something.
- I get myself into such a state of deep focus, that I have to set myself timers to get up and stretch.
- I’ve taken great pride and care of my background, and refuse to blur it out 😂
- I make sure I dress as though I was going into an office. It helps get my mind into work mode.
- I am very protective of my work-life balance. Work can very easily seep into life, and it’s up to you to keep that boundary. I think I’ve perfected maintaining it but also making exceptions when needed.
- I feel people’s pain whenever they are having tech issues, and try to help or point them in IT’s direction.
- I ensured my Wi-Fi connection is the best I could possibly get to ensure no snags, especially since there’s two of us working from home.
- I make sure I have time in every week to have 1:1s with the team, and these help tide us over until we make it somewhere all in person.
That’s what makes it all work well for me and, in turn, for Microsoft. I don’t spend 2.5h and £30 each way on a useless commute, and instead get to log on refreshed and raring to go, knowing that I’ve up to 5.30 on the dot before I go to pick my toddler up and spend a couple of hours with him.

Here at CROWDCONSULTANTS we've been champions of remote work since day one. Even so, we know it takes more than just a laptop and a WiFi connection to thrive in a distributed team. That's why we've cultivated an approach that fosters collaboration and connection, even when we are miles apart.
Here are some of our remote work best practices that keep our team engaged and productive:
1️⃣ Weekly Virtual Office: Every Friday, we dedicate a full day to our virtual office. This is a designated space for everyone to log in, work on projects together, and brainstorm in real-time. It's like having a co-working space, but without the commute!
2️⃣ Coffee Corner Chats: We all miss those casual chats by the coffee machine, right? That's why we have a dedicated "Coffee Corner" meeting plus a channel on our communication platform. It's a free space for anyone to jump in, grab a virtual cup, and chat about anything under the sun.
3️⃣ Weekly catchups by Communities: besides the daily tactical sync sessions, each Community joins weekly gatherings where they discuss work progress in more general terms and goals for upcoming weeks.
4️⃣ Beyond Work Connections: We believe strong relationships are key to a happy and productive team. We encourage virtual team-building activities, online social events, and even celebrate personal milestones together.
These are just a few ways we make remote work a working feature for us! What are your favorite tips for staying connected and productive in a distributed team?
