Life at Core Highways
At Core Highways, we’re growing into the UK’s largest supplier of temporary traffic management, barrier solutions and event signage.
As we grow and build more connections with our partners across the UK, a key focus for us will always be the development of our people.
Today we meet Amy, one of our HR Advisors, who tells us more about what she has taken from recently completing her CIPD Level 5 Apprenticeship in Human Resources.
Amy also tells us more about what her role in the business entails and what makes her tick outside of work too.
Making sure our people have the space and time to grow professionally and personally is always something that we’ll be passionate about at Core Highways.
If you feel like you could grow with us and be a part of something bigger, why not get in touch today?

Hi, my name is Amy, I'm HR advisor at Core Highways. So as an HR advisor I support managers by providing them with advice on the companies policies and procedures. I help manage employee relation processes such as disciplinary and grievance procedures and I also support the HR business partner in her role as well. I joined the business completely new to HR. I joined as a HR apprentice so I did my Level 3 apprenticeship in HR. Where I learned the basics of HR including employee legislation, how to store data and everything to do with GDPR and then also about employee welfare as well. After completing my Level 3, I took a year off studying and then after that year I decided I was ready to get back into studying. So I decided it was time to start my level 5 apprenticeship into people management. The business has been really supportive in allowing me to complete my level 5 apprenticeship. My managers have been really supportive and have been giving me feedback on my assignments and it's really good as a business to allow me to use my knowledge from the learning that I've completed in my HR apprenticeship into real life examples. I really enjoy working with my team at Core Highways. We've grown massively since the time I've been here and it's just really nice to spend time with such like minded people. And it's great that I've been able to spend some time outside of work as well with these people. And we share sort of similar interests. So it's great that, you know, with not only spending time in work, but also outside work as well.
