I love September because school starts up again, and we are blessed to be able to work with some of the most incredible interns! Interns are lovely because they are hungry and willing to learn. Some of our greatest employees started as interns. Always make sure to treat them with a lot of patience and attention. Throw a pizza party for them once in a while! Creating an open and healthy work environment for interns will make them more inclined to stay with you. Today, I'm thrilled to introduce our incredible new summer interns! 🎉 Watching fresh faces step onto our team with enthusiasm and innovative ideas is always a highlight of the job. We had over 50 applicants this semester and these six bright minds bring new perspectives that challenge us to think differently and push boundaries. Meet Noah Pelo, Angel Decker, Kiernan Dunn, Zac Doggett, Riley Mortenson, and Sydney Harrison – six individuals who have already started making waves in their few weeks. We have four different internship tracks this summer. Producing, Video Production, Post Production, and Sales. Why are internships this important? Because recognizing creative potential and educating about the real world of production for our interns not only boosts their confidence but also shines a light on the future they could hold. When we uplift others, we create a ripple effect that benefits everyone in our network. Last week, we welcomed this year's summer co-ops and interns to the Cineplex team! 🎉 Transitioning into the professional world can be both exciting and overwhelming. Whether you're diving into your first job or aiming to maximize your experience, remember that every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact. Here are my top 10 tips to to help you navigate your internship/co-op and make the most out of your summer position: 💼✨ 1. Show Initiative: Don't wait for instructions, seek out opportunities, and contribute ideas that add value to projects. 2. Stay Organized: Keep track of deadlines, meetings, and tasks to ensure you stay on top of your responsibilities. 3. Outline Your Goals: Set clear goals for what you want to achieve during your internship/co-op. Whether it's gaining specific skills or completing projects, having goals keeps you focused and motivated. 4. Be Professional: Represent the company with integrity. Dress appropriately, adhere to company policies, respect and address colleagues professionally. 5. Be Punctual: Time is valuable in the workplace, so always arrive on time for meetings, assignments, and deadlines. 6. Ask for Help: Don't hesitate to ask questions or seek guidance when you need it. Asking for help shows that you're proactive and committed to doing your best work. 7. Make Yourself Available and Be Hungry to Learn: Be open to new experiences and opportunities for growth. Happy Interns Day! I spoke with one of my clients about the interns she has working with her this summer and she told me about a question she asked each of them recently. She asked each of them what they hadn't worked on yet but wanted to before the end of the summer. I think this is such an important thing to find out. Remember, you have the ability to help a young person determine their future path right now. Talk to your interns. Ask questions. Find out what they love and don't love.
