BACKDROP: Over the past 18 years I've been able to work with many of you on different strategies to disproportionately align new resources and solutions to communities that need it most. Although the goal has been the same - better student/community outcomes, the approach has looked different in each city and state this work has happened. I've learned a lot in the process. THE WHAT: Now, more than ever, our communities need us to comprehensively leverage these 3rd way solutions with them so that we can move beyond some of these seemingly intractable challenges that can only be solved through deep community partnership, working across sector silos, and deeper resource investment and alignment in communities that need it. At Victory Creative Learning, we recognize this need and are committed to making a difference. When I founded Victory Creative Learning, my goal was deeply personal. As a single parent and teacher, I wanted to provide my children with academic enrichment that not only met but exceeded the standards necessary for future success. They are a vital link 🔗 between the local community 🏡 and the school district 🏢. Each week this month, we look forward to highlighting each of our board members! 🌟 An effective school board models collaboration 👥, operates within the domain boards were created for 📜, and does so with ever-growing professionalism 🌟 and expertise 🧠. The board’s domain 📚, or primary functions, are to provide visionary leadership 🌠, effective governance 📊, and strategic advocacy 📣 on behalf of their local districts 🏘️ and K-12 education 🎓 as a whole. While doing so, they should remain committed to educational equity 📚, student achievement 🎉, and community engagement 🤝.
