Bigs play a significant impact on the academic achievement of their Littles, which can be felt long after they graduate from high school. According to an online survey of alumni Littles from across the nation: 🎓 77% said they are doing better in school because of their Big 🎓 65% agreed that Big helped them reach a higher level of education than they thought possible 🎓 52% agreed their Big kept them from dropping out of high school Interested in supporting a young person on their journey to achieve their biggest dreams? As a FAMU alumna, whenever I met an HBCU alumna, especially a recent STEM graduate, I want to support them in their career. Today, I met Serena E. , a Spelman alumna and purchased copies of her book MSITU, about an urban forest for my nonprofit Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc STEM Literacy Program. This book tells a story about invasive species in an urban forest, and it is a great environmental educational tool for kids to learn about plant identification and environmental vocabulary. #BLACKandSTEM #FAMUAlumna #HBCUAlumna

NO PROBLEM IS TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL! Northglenn High School STEM practices Problem Based Learning (PBL) where we give our students in every class authentic problems and then the students propose solutions to those problems. All of our classes and teachers use PBL to inspire students and solve problems.  We have noticed that when our students are provided with a problem from an authentic partner that students take their solutions to the next level. That is where you come in...
