🚨 The White House Roundtable on U.S. Leadership in AI Infrastructure 🚨 The White House recently convened a roundtable discussion to explore strategies for maintaining the United States' global leadership in artificial intelligence (AI). Participants from industry, government, and academia gathered to discuss key challenges and opportunities related to AI infrastructure development. 🤖 The discussion focused on the physical infrastructure requirements for building large-scale AI data centers, including clean energy, permitting, and workforce requirements. 🦺 Participants emphasized the importance of creating good-paying jobs for American workers in the AI field, including roles for pipefitters, electrical workers, and other skilled professionals. 🌳 The roundtable addressed the need to keep energy costs low for consumers, especially as AI data centers require significant amounts of electricity. Among the top companies represented at the roundtable were OpenAI, Anthropic, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google The Administration will scale up technical assistance to federal, state, and local authorities handling data center permitting.
