Like Nails on a Chalkboard At least once a year, I will see a poorly designed gusset. As I prep for the Utility Expo, I know that I will see one there.  If I do a Google image search, the 3 of the top five results will be a poorly designed gusset. When two tubes come together and have bending loads, you will probably need a gusset to improve the stress flow. However, most designs will put a gusset in the center of the tube and ..... increase the stress. This makes me sick. Not sure I fully understand why on the horizontal beam you come down with a portion at 30 degrees then go horizontal for a small portion before going back at an angle transitioning back to the vertical beam center with a large radius…. Would like to see more information on that
