I have recently been speaking to a few new clients working for law firms and legal tech companies about the negative issues that they will find about having an empty post remain vacant.   Because some were able to distribute the workload they had not considered the negative impact on their business or employees who were covering the work, including the employee well-being, productivity, customer satisfaction, and the team / company's overall growth potential.   I wanted to make it easier to understand, so I always base it on the following 6 points. 1.      Low Productivity: A reduced productivity due to existing employees being overwhelmed with extra workloads. 2.      Employee Stress: An increased stress and potential burnout among existing staff due to heavier workloads. 3.      Increased Turnover: Unhappy or stressed employees may seek employment elsewhere, which could lead to more workload etc. 4.      Slow Growth or Inability to Grow at all: Vacant post may mean that a company struggles to handle current workload, making it challenging to pursue new opportunities. 5.      Loss of Clients: A reduced team spreading too much workload may struggle to meet deadlines. Timelines might slip and lead to a loss of clients and result in damage to the company's reputation. 6.      Reduced Client Service: A reduction in client services because of vacant posts may lead to project errors, which might result in missing agreed deadlines, which could mean a  negatively client experience and losing their loyalty Leaving a post empty could cost you Time, Business, Revenue and Employees.
