Exploring The Collaborative Way
Recently we mentioned that CSE has implemented The Collaborative Way in our daily operations. It explores 6 key components to ensure a productive and collaborating work environment. Chapter 1 introduces “Listening Generously”. Listening generously is about engaging with others by giving them your full attention and seeking to understand, rather than preparing to respond. If you aren’t listening, you aren’t building leaders or team players. Listening is a powerful tool for influencing action. You can collaborate with your peers and together get what you want accomplished. Listening generously is listening more effectively; it requires paying attention and setting aside filters. Filters are the automatic thoughts we have when we’re listening to someone that gets in the way of us truly hearing what they have to say. The chapter emphasizes that adopting The Collaborative Way is a shift in the culture and behaviors of an organization that produces leaders and encourages employees to contribute their unique strengths to the company’s success.

Many thanks to our design partners for their diligence in this collaboration!
We are excited to have recently issued final construction documents for a new local industrial pretreatment wastewater facility. Our industrial client has an aging pretreatment process facility and they had identified a process that would help them not only pretreat their wastewater sent to the local municipal sewer treatment but also will allow them to reuse their wastewater in their cooling towers giving them around a million gallons reduction in wastewater sent to the sewer and reducing their use of city water by approximately the same amount. The process is upgrading their wastewater pretreatment facilities as well as providing significant ongoing savings on their utilities moving forward. We were tasked by our client to put together a design team to provide a complete set of construction documents working with their chosen process equipment supplier. We appreciate our design partners, Hawkins-Weir Engineers Inc., MAHG Architecture, and HSA Engineers, providing civil and electrical engineering, architectural design, and mechanical engineering services respectively. We used Autodesk Construction Cloud to help coordinate the design team’s 3D models and produce a cohesive set of construction documents as well as visualizing the design for our client. We are looking forward to seeing this project come to fruition as we take part in supporting our client’s success.
