How do airport lounges make money by charging just Rs. 2 to your credit card? Almost all credit cards offer airport lounge access for 2 rupees, where the food is free. But do you know how the lounge makes money from this? The lounge isn't paying out of its own pocket. Your credit card company and bank pay a pre-negotiated fee every time you enter the lounge. So, the next question is why the bank gives you free lounge access. Well, the penetration of credit cards in India is among the lowest in the world, at just 3%. Giving out these freebies is one of many strategies to increase the number of credit card customers. Because after reading this post, you might think, "Wow, this free lounge access is great, I'll also get a credit card." And that is exactly what the banks want. The lounge access is a bait. The banks aim to make money from customers like you when you purchase something you cannot afford, and then convert your credit card dues into EMI or pay interest and late fees. #banks #creditcards #emi #interest #finance #savings #money #business

💳🇫🇷 Ever wonder about the ongoing debate over card payment fees in #France? Dive into the complexities of France’s payment ecosystem and the strategic dynamics at play. Since 1984, France has carved a unique niche in the global payment systems by establishing GIE Cartes Bancaires (CB), marrying local strength with global reach through partnerships with giants like Visa and Mastercard. 🏦🌍 The landscape shifted with EU regulation 2015/751, ushering in a demand for transaction fee transparency and granting consumers the choice of their preferred card scheme. This change benefited the cost-effective GIE CB scheme but introduced new challenges regarding increased merchant operational costs. 🛍️💼 A pivotal development is #Visa ’s exclusive partnership with Groupe BPCE for the #Paris2024 #Olympics, intensifying the competitive atmosphere. Moreover, accepting only Visa cards within stadiums and Olympic event venues can be considered a strategic maneuver akin to a "backstab" to GIE CB. This move during one of the globe’s most prestigious sporting spectacles could significantly challenge the dominance of France's local card scheme. 🏅🔪💳 Furthermore, the rise of NeoBanks, exclusively partnering with Visa and #Mastercard, amplifies this challenge. By pushing these international schemes, NeoBanks are inadvertently escalating merchant fees. This adds to the operational cost burden for local merchants and risks increasing consumer prices, further complicating France’s payment landscape. 💳📈 As we approach the Paris 2024 Olympics, the spotlight on France's payment industry shines brighter than ever, bringing the critical balance between innovation, consumer choice, and economic implications to the forefront. 🌐🎭 What are your thoughts on navigating the complexities of payment schemes in a rapidly evolving digital banking landscape? How do you foresee these developments affecting consumer choice and merchant costs, especially in light of such exclusive partnerships and regulations?

Best Credit Card Alternatives to TSB Changing Rewards Ratio #CreditCardDiscussion #TSBCreditCard #AMEXAirpoints #CashbackRewards Have you heard about TSB's change in their cash back program from $70 spend per $1 to $100 spend per $1? 🤔 I've been a TSB customer for two years now, and this change is making me reconsider my options. What to do if you find an old Travelers Check? Banks, hotels, and merchants were once very used to accepting traveler’s checks. Today, with credit and debit cards, traveler’s checks have kinda sorta become a thing of the past. But they’re still available. The good news is travelers checks never expire. And there are still several banks and merchants throughout the world that allow you to cash them. If you’ve found one in an old suitcase start by visiting your local bank, they’ll likely be able to turn it into cash. #financialplanning #financialplanner #cherrycreek #denverfinancialplanner

Transforming Payment Preferences with Reward Programs ✨ Current giro accounts and credit cards are among the basic offerings of banks. However, these alone are hardly sufficient to attract consumers, as there is a lack of differentiation. Therefore, more and more banks are offering value-added services or reward programs. By implementing these additional services, banks can increase the "switching barriers" for consumers. The success story of Emirates NBD shows just how effective reward programs can be: 🔑 Qualification Consumers apply for a participating credit card and reach a minimum spend threshold within 90 days to qualify. 🆓 Reward Receive a Free Flight voucher upon reaching the target spend. 📩 Fulfillment Qualifying consumers get a promotional code to register on the branded campaign website. Then they receive a personalized Free Flight offer after specifying their travel details. #AxisForexCard hashtag #ForexCard I have two credit cards with considerable monthly spends but unfortunately those cards are not eligible for lounge access at airports despite having big names of Visa and Mastercard associated with them. I am not a frequent traveler so did not care to apply for a credit card with lounge access especially when the wait for connecting flights is 10 hours. I was told to apply for one but is it not the responsibility of the corporate to see that I have a corporate lounge access card instead of a personal one? Why should not the corporate forex card which is mandatory to hold for onsite trips be tied to airport lounge access? Should not this be part of corporate responsibility?
