Incentives can work in India… a Re 1 per day for not smoking, totaling around Rs 275 per year. Moreover, incentives of Rs 2 per day for not spitting in public, Rs 3 per day for not honking, Rs 5 per day for not using mobile phones while driving, and many more can be added.

At one of my x employer, I remember my so called senior colleagues going for a smoke break every 30 mins...my query had to wait atleast 3 smoke breaks before it could be answered. This led to me leaving office at 10 pm everyday (after stating at 9 am). End result- i had to quit in 4.5 months.
