Remand numbers increasing in NSW Prison System: It will be interesting to see the stats on what the average length of custodial sentence is imposed on these DV offenders. Making up a large proportion of remand numbers in custody, it will be interesting to see if the majority receive a custodial sentence or an alternative (ICO, etc). Then you will have the situation of being sentenced to a short term custodial sentence with a backdate. I understand the need to protect victims of DV, but in reality, serving 6 or less months and then back into the community, will most likely be the outcome. Significant resources and engagement in violent prevention is paramount in these situations, not sure if they will be in custody long enough to engage in any violent prevention programs or if they even qualify to participate in such a program. CSNSW do have some other programs options, but this is an important area to be addressed, especially for the safety of these individuals who are victims of DV. https://lnkd.in/ghpGvZAG

UK Head Of Physical Security - subject matter expert in protecting people, places and property using security as a modern business enabler.
I had to provide advice recently on this and not many people seem to know about it. Please feel free to share as it may help someone in your network. Are you feeling threatened by an ex-partner or someone serving a prison sentence? Are you being intimidated as a witness by someone in prison? The national Unwanted Prisoner Contact Service can help. The service can help prevent people from receiving unwanted contact from prisoners which actioned via a request to block contact of individuals causing harm, alarm or distress by providing details such as registered names, addresses or phone numbers. It is available to anyone, including victims and witnesses, and is there to help you if you are receiving any form of contact or correspondence that makes you feel bullied, harassed, intimidated, or is simply not wanted. The service can stop you getting unwanted: Letters Phone calls Texts Other messages from a prisoner These provisions protect victims and witnesses from unwanted contact. This is especially important if you – as the victim – are vulnerable or subject to controlling, coercive behaviour, exploitation, harassment or intimidation. Preventing contact is critical in stopping further harm, maintaining confidence and supporting prosecutions. Requests to block contact can be made directly by you as the victim, on behalf of the victim with their consent, or by police, probation, victim services, friends, or family members of the victim without their consent. Each case will be assessed individually.

Behind "we need to keep him in prison" Part 2 Again, saying "i'm fine" is not synonym of being fine! https://buff.ly/49ES2DM https://buff.ly/3SVGpRY Part 1 https://buff.ly/3SVGvZQ So the question again: where is the difference between keeping prisoners in prison for life based on "your believes" and deciding if people need to get a death sentence or not? In the first case, it's based on OPINIONS! ... because you will NEVER know what the dude is thinking In the second case, it's based on FACTS and PROOFS! Means he gets a death sentence, because of the amount of crimes he did and because he trashed all his human rights by doing such crimes! so it's not an opinion if such criminal deserve or not a death sentence! Again, we talk about serious crime, not @ShittyDeathSentences! with proofs and done with proper @DeathExecutionMethod! not based on discrimination and personal wishes / interests! Third point: do you think that living 80 years in prison is really better for criminals than knowing "well, finally i die"? (this especially if there is no @LuxusHotel). Exactly like keeping alive people against their wishes ... https://buff.ly/3wrBLDP https://buff.ly/3vDDJR3 So again, not only because "you are against …
