Healthcare is a unique sector within real estate, which requires specific knowledge and expertise. You cannot invest lightly, explains Juan Cadena, CEO of Colombian Healthcare Properties. You have to understand who to do business with, and target those healthcare operators with proven experience and strong financials, or you risk being a white knight. 🔹 In an exclusive interview with Gustavo Favaron, CEO & Managing Partner of GRI Club, at Ibero-American GRI 2024, Juan described the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the healthcare real estate sector - a very different scenario to many other real estate asset classes. While offices and hospitality were suffering with an inundation of lease renegotiation requests from tenants, Colombian Healthcare Properties received none. Furthermore, healthcare services have amplified significantly since the pandemic, with 15-20% more services provided than pre-pandemic, converting into a growing demand for healthcare real estate. 🔗 Watch the full interview with Juan Cadena here: https://lnkd.in/dFqgRrmU #griclub #realestate #latinamerica #healthcare #growth

This morning, I visited Birmingham City University for an event hosted by their Digital Transformation team. The Curzon Building is yet another stand-out addition to Birmingham’s ever-growing collection of impressive city centre landmarks. It was a fantastic opportunity to hear from business leaders who are driving innovation through digital transformation. Michael Parinchy and Faizal Mazlan shared how ProBuild360 is advancing the use of video and digital technologies in construction through a KTP with BCU. Michael Watts explained how Blüm Health is leading efforts to transform healthcare across the NHS. Begüm SAMUR-TERAMAN, Ph.D. offered practical and insightful advice on how SMEs can embrace digital change effectively. A few key takeaways: * It’s not about failing fast; it’s about failing mindfully. Every experience is a chance to learn. * Ambitious plans are vital, but real progress happens through small, consistent steps: Think Big, Step Small. * A strong network is invaluable - invest time in building and maintaining it. It’s always inspiring to see how much innovation is happening in Birmingham and how businesses are collaborating to make meaningful progress. Many thanks to the team at BCU for organising the insightful session. #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #Networking #Birmingham
