Me and Abhijeet Bhattacharya 💯🚀 successfully conducted a session in which Lakshman kumar shared his experience on his first hackathon which was conducted by Society for Data Science, BIT Mesra Here are some key 🗝 points for your first hackathon.👇 1. Don't forget your charger and extensions before going. 👀 2. Make a team and divide work on the basis of frontend, backend, and design.🔯 3. Making a good presentation is also very important. Check beforehand whether you will get any extra time for it or not.🚶 4. Never doubt your eligibility, give it a try, and then learn from your mistakes. It's the experience that matters.🫡 5. Participate in an online hackathon before going to a physical one for practice.✅

🎉 Hackathon completed! 🎉 A data science problem was solved in nine different ways by participants across the organization. Hackathons are “competitions” in which multiple people look for solutions to the same problem for a defined period of time. (In this case, “competitions” with apostrophes because our hackathons are all about learning and not so much about competing.) For the project that sets the problem, they offer - New perspectives - Different approaches tested in practice - Possibly more workforce than usually For participants, they offer - Opportunities to learn individually and from others - Cross-team interaction and networking - A refreshing change in the work content for a fixed time - An exciting hunt for solutions 🙂 Many submitted solutions had similar components but none of them was exactly the same. Several of them had out-of-the box approaches that the project team hadn’t consider before, but will definitely look into in the near future. Now it’s time to dive deeper into the solutions and see which elements best fit the needs of the product being developed. Many thanks to all participants and organizers for making the event a success!

With colleagues from RTK IT, as part of team building, we took part in the company’s internal hackathon. It was very valuable to temporarily take on tasks of a completely different profile: we predicted the interest of users in purchasing B2B products, and also offered a convenient architecture and UI. The difficulty was that the data was raw and scattered, but in the end we were able to make predictions, even if almost nothing was known about the user. It’s great that we were able to work with: · classic regression algorithms; · feature generation; · accelerated product piloting. As a bonus, we won 50,000 rubles each for external training, I have already decided to improve ML Ops at Karpov.courses!
