The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially in the works! With that being said I am sharing my favorite hack from the movie for tradeshows and conferences. We all remember the scene when Andy gets told she is attending the event and has to remember all the names of the people who will be there. Now two binders full of names the night before the event is a nightmare for all of us, it teaches us the benefit of prepping. I am TERRIBLE at remembering names but I am really good at memorizing faces. So anytime I have a conference or an event to attend I like to create my own Devil Wears Prada book for the event. This includes; screenshots of their LinkedIn profile, stats about their company, and any interesting facts I know. I do this for the top people to "keep an eye out for". It allows me to prep for the event and put a face to the name! As we head into big conferences for the fall try it out and let me know your thoughts!

Many thoughts swishing around my brain after a packed day at #iiexeurope (photo evidence taken upon arrival when I was more fresh faced). The one session I'm still thinking about was the client panel hosted by Lucy Davison and featuring Claire Rainey of VMO2, Mariline Alsuar of Durex/Reckitt and Vesna Hajnšek from Swarovski. Top takeaways? Agencies are far too focused on methodology, but should be more focused on deliverables, insight activation and socialisation, in our pitches and proposals. Stop waxing lyrical about sample make-up, if clients are working with you, they trust you've got it covered. And be more honest - honest about your limitations, but creative about how you'll work around them. Clients don't want a "yes, client" relationship - they want authenticity and candour in a partnership.

You might say I'm "everywhere"! Someone recently said that to me after seeing our booth at both the bridal fair in the Philippines and a school activation in the mall – all within the same week! While it might sound intense (trust me, keeping up with the schedule was!), it highlights the power of visibility. Whether it's online or in-person, being seen puts you and your brand at the forefront, leading to: 1. Increased Brand Awareness: People can't connect with what they don't know exists! 2. Building Trust and Credibility: Consistent presence, especially at relevant events, demonstrates your commitment to your industry and builds trust with your audience. 3. Fostering Stronger Relationships: Face-to-face interactions allow you to connect on a more personal level, answer questions, and build lasting connections. I'm incredibly grateful to the Innoventures Education team for giving us this fantastic opportunity to showcase our brand at their event. VO 70 was an extraordinary event. Now that our Founder & CEO, Elle Hill and Principal Consultant, Donatella Zappieri, have had time to reflect on the first Vicenzaoro of the year, we wanted to share with you our four takeaways from the fair and what they mean for your business in 2024: 1/ Made in Italy In terms of visitors, this was the most international Vicenzaoro ever (60% of attendees were global), but ‘Made in Italy’ was the story that resonated through the exhibition hall. The challenge for businesses is how to tap into that story for your own brand and tell it to your consumers in an authentic way. That’s why our new Principal Consultant, Donatella Zappieri is perfectly placed in Italy to support you in 2024. 2/ Thought leadership was everywhere Interesting and innovative ideas flowed through this edition of Vicenzaoro. This wasn’t just a transactional space but a platform for education and discussion. It illustrates how important the story behind your brand is in 2024. Your audience doesn’t just want to buy your products they want to feel connected to your company’s mission and values. 3/ Sustainability and traceability Sustainability remains a big talking point, and there was lots of discussion on how to bring the whole jewelry supply chain on the journey to reduce the fear and uncertainty about the challenges ahead. As Iris Maria Alexis Van der Veken, Executive Director, Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030 said: “We need everyone in the value chain involved to do due diligence. The question is how can we educate and not scare people away?” 4/ The rise of the ‘global consumer’ The access to information from social media and the internet has reduced the differences between customers in different markets. Your potential customers are global so you must ensure your brand and buying journey is attractive to an international audience. As Stellene Volandes , Editor in Chief of Town and Country, US said: “The idea that there is a big difference between a US consumer and a European consumer, for example, has collapsed. There is now a ‘global consumer’.” ____ 70 years after the first Vicenzaoro, the show is still evolving and feels incredibly relevant. 2024 was its busiest year for visitors ever. We extend our huge thanks and congratulations to Marco Carniello, VICENZAORO - ITALIAN EXHIBITION GROUP and all those involved in creating this extraordinary event.
