3 Reasons why you should repost old content One of the hardest parts of posting consistently on social media is coming up with content. Some people think once you create a piece of content it's one and done. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here are 3 reasons you should repurpose and repost the same content every 6-12 months (maybe even more frequently) 1. You have many new followers, and even existing followers that never saw that original piece. 2. Most people have short term memories, and don't remember the post, certainly not the details of it 3. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE: The best knowledge needs to be reviewed over and over again. Have you ever had a coach or mentor, that used to say the same phrases over and over again? I bet you know them verbatim, not just because they were powerful words, but because you heard them so often. So too with content, the most important messages should be repeated over and over for them to really sink in Repurposing is a whole other level, of taking long form and putting it in short form, or text to video, or carousel. But remember the important messages need to be repeated (see what I did there? 😉) #weissadvice #costsegregation

It really is #3. People won't get bored of the repetition, if there's a space between. They tend to forget and they appreciate the refresher. They will even notice things they didn't notice the first time around. We forget that, when books were super expensive a couple hundred years ago, people had few books but they read them again and again. They didn't get bored because each reading produced new insights. Same with your content here.

Such great information. It is almost like I am getting permission to repost 😂 Thank you for this!

The chances of someone seeing your content are so spotty, with the avalanche of content out there and the limited time we have to explore, that most people will not even know that your repeating. And if you leave enough time between the posts, they'll most likely have already forgotten the original. Great post!

Pretty crafty there Yonah Weiss. My mom was an educator and she always said 3 + times exposed was needed for retention.
