"Chinese Tourists Are Returning to a Tropical Corner of South East Asia." The barometer for China’s re-shaping outbound recovery is often conveyed via mega-stat destinations like Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam, as well as Hong Kong and Macau.
Malaysia, which offers visa-free access, is also mentioned in despatches, but geography creates a unique structure to its Chinese inbound mix.
Keep an eye on the East Malaysian state of Sabah - particularly during peak holiday periods. It is well marketed, and offers many of the attractions that visitors from China and North East Asia are seeking for short getaways - far from the madding crowds.

🤨 How would you travel in China – by plane/car/train?
I’d 100% pick TRAIN, my 3 reasons👇
People often forget that the choice of transportation can highly affect our travel experience.
And I’m a PRO train type of person!
I argue it’s the most unrivalled mode of exploration - especially in China.
Here’s WHY:
🏔️【Cultural immersion】
Unlike air travel, where clouds obscure the view...
Or highway trip, limited perspective...
Train offers you a *panoramic window* into diverse landscapes, plus, you can always hop off at any station for a little EXTRA journey!
🛌【Comfortability】
-Huge beds beside the window
-Retro Karaoke bar
-Freshly made authentic Chinese food
-High-speed wi-fi
-Private cabins
-Spacious shower rooms
Trains in China today literally got everything you need for a nice journey!
🚂【Connectivity】
A China-specific advantage!
China has over 5,500 train stations + a vast network that covers 155,000 km in total length🤯
= Meaning seamless journey from one destination to another, but also access to regions that are usually *less accessible* by other means of transport.
Depending on your budget, you can find train tickets with prices from $1- 6500 USD.
Definitely the most convenient way to explore the multifaceted country!
Do you agree?
Have you ever been on a train in China? What was it like?

Pleased to see that a somewhat experimental itinerary briefly homeporting out of Port Klang and interestingly skipping Singapore is doing well for sales. Enough so that they are making an additional sailing. Key to this has been the growing acceptance of cruise among Malaysians, as previously seen by the Resorts World "twin homeport" @ interporting cruises.
If any of the Malaysian ports hope to see more homeporting calls, the Malaysian source market needs to grow further. This may appear counterintuitive for tourism agencies looking to bring in tourists from abroad, but the local cruise guests provide a more sustainable base from which lines can begin to grow the market from other sources.
