Where experience hurts and inexperience helps Or, is that even true? The sales industry is unique in so many ways. We’ve experienced more counter-intuitive phenomena than any other industry. In most every role in every industry, more experience is a strength and a more attractive potential hire. And many sales organizations mistakenly take the same approach. FOR ALL THOSE WHO MAKE HIRING DECISIONS IN SALES… Try not to fall into this same trap. Ask yourself the following questions about the Vet: 1️⃣ Is the Vet set in their ways and uncoachable? 2️⃣ How many employment changes has the vet made and why? 3️⃣ Will they fit with the culture of your team? 4️⃣ Are they an asset to your rookies? 5️⃣ Will they 100% buy into how you do what you do? Ask yourself the following questions about the Rook: 1️⃣ Is their inexperience coupled with hunger and drive? 2️⃣ What non-sales experience will parlay into sales success? 3️⃣ Are they coachable? 4️⃣ Do you provide world-class training that will equip them? There’s no one size fits all rule of thumb for this one aside from… Understand the pros and cons of the Vet and the Rook. And consider them equally. In sales, experience doesn’t always mean better. Tech sales is by far the most rewarding career I have ever had. You can definitely learn skills that are transferrable for every aspect of your life.

Lots of people “fall” into a sales role. It’s how I ended up in sales. And we think that is a shame. Because starting in an entry level sales role and moving through to setting up and running business units, and now a whole business, sales has pretty much taught me everything. You can build your: - confidence - self awareness - communication - earning potential And once you can drive revenue yourself or drive performance in revenue producing team, you’ll have some VERY valuable skills And those skills can open a lot of doors I don’t see another career that can teach you so much, pay you so well and create so many opportunities #salescareer #saleshiring #salesdevelopment

Transitioning Teachers, have you thought about sales? SLED Tech, Ed Tech, etc. No? Aight hear me out As a teacher, you've presented in front of kids who don't want to be there and, at least in my experience, had absolutely no qualms about letting you know they don't want to be there in no uncertain terms. Imagine presenting your product or solution to someone who WANTS to listen. Sales managers are incentivized to support your growth and success, while disruptive parents and unsupportive administration can make teaching a nightmare. Find you a good company like brightwheel and these same managers are going to be some of your favorite people ever Yes, sales can be tough, with cold calling and harsh rejections.
