In Singapore, durian parties have become more than just a fruit fest—they're a cultural phenomenon! Once about indulging in 𝘔𝘢𝘰 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘨, 𝘋24, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘥 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘸𝘯, these gatherings have transformed into a much-anticipated social experience where colleagues connect, friendships bloom, and 𝐲𝐞𝐬, 𝐅𝐎𝐌𝐎 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 if you're not there!
At IMDA, we recently hosted our own 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐤𝐞-𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 durian party, and while I'm not a durian fan, what stood out to me was how such a simple event brings people together. It’s more than just the fruit—it's the laughter, the conversations, and the chance to make new friends in a relaxed, inclusive environment. It’s where bonds are formed, passions shared, and walls broken down as everyone chats until their hearts are content.
Even our senior leaders got involved, and that’s what makes it special. These moments remind us that team bonding doesn’t have to be formal—it can be as simple as sitting around, savoring durians, and connecting over shared experiences.
