Keep Your Kids Safe This Summer with DayGlo! 🌟 As summer heatwaves hit and swimming becomes a favorite way to stay cool, ensuring your children's safety is more important than ever. Recent warnings advise parents to check their kids' swimwear colors to make sure they are visible underwater. DayGlo's vibrant fluorescent pigments are designed to stand out, even underwater. Unlike popular swimwear colors like blue, white and grey, which become nearly invisible at just 2 meters depth, fluorescent colors like pink, yellow, purple and green ensure your child is easily seen. The more fluorescent the swimwear, the safer your child will be. Brightly colored swimwear made with DayGlo pigments can be life-saving by making your kids more visible in pools, lakes and the sea. Prioritize safety and visibility this summer with DayGlo's high-visibility colors. #DayGlo #SafetyFirst #FluorescentColors #SummerSafety #Swimwear #VisibleUnderwater #KidsSafety #BrightColors #HeatwaveSafety #StayCoolStaySafe

AAT Accountant and Bookkeeper | Finance support for businesses driven by passion and focused on growth
I was chatting with my son about waterproof socks the other day. He said they're a really good seller in the outdoor shops he's worked in. I said I couldn't understand why. Surely if you're hiking or cycling in wet conditions, you'd use gaiters or overshoes. Isn't the best way to stop the rain ever reaching your socks? On the same basis I suppose that you put on a waterproof jacket if it's raining, not a waterproof t-shirt or vest. Fast forward to this morning's rain-drenched run and a moment of realisation! 😂 I've suffered cold feet and wrinkly toes for years running on wet days (overshoes or gaiters don't really work with trainers). I spend ages choosing new running shoes, but never even think about my socks 😳 Is there a business lesson in this? A life lesson really I suppose ... to keep an open mind ... watch and learn from others ... and be willing to do things differently 🧦 🏃♀️ #waterproofsocks #dothingsdifferently #openmind

Quality/Digital Transformation Leader who achieves goals for biopharmaceutical companies through active listening, analysis, recommendation, and project execution.
I've got a fanny pack (a bum bag to you Irish & Brits) and I'm not afraid to wear it. For reference I am generation X born in 1967 which is just 5 years after the fanny pack was invented. In the 60's and 70's they were mainly used by hikers, bicyclists, cross country skiers, etc. (athletic types). I never knew. I was just a kid. By the 80's they became high fashion along with other athleisure attire (think track suits). I graduated from high school in 1985 and college in 1989. The crowd I ran with had limitless disdain for athleisure and the fanny pack. We were way too cool to be seen in that crap. Back then I would have committed hara-kiri before ever strapping one of those fanny packs around my waist. I also did not consider myself a hiker back in the 80's. I wasn't even very interested in sports. I was just a nerd - not one of the athletic types. Sure, I'd go for very long walks in the woods, but that was just to see what I could find in the natural world and observe like any good naturalist-scientist would do. So - what the heck happened between the 1980's and the 2020's? - Well, first of all I now qualify as a 'man of a certain age'. This means that I am way less driven by any fashion or trend - yet conversely way more open minded to try new things. I have nothing left to prove and nobody to prove it to. I wear what I like. People can say what they want. I'll just keep on keeping on. - I've decided I worked enough, and I now choose to be mostly retired. This gives me the majority of my time to do with as I please and the one thing I've really gotten into is hiking. There is no bad season for hiking, but my favorite hiking months are February (snowshoeing!), June (spring in the mountains!), and October (don't-cha love crunching through the leaves?). - I'm shifting from day hiking to backpacking and dabbling in thru hiking. This means different packs, clothes, and gear depending on the type of adventure, location, and time of year. I'm experimenting with all kinds of gear and one of my favorite experiments is the fanny pack. It's great all year round! The fanny pack allows me to keep snacks and other essentials close at hand. I don't need to stop and take off my pack. Sitting in front, it also serves as a slight counterbalance to my backpack. It's been so successful that I find myself wearing it to the grocery store or to the hardware store. My wife (who started dating me in high school) thinks that I've gone crazy. Moral of the story (applicability to work and life in general): - Never say never to anything - sometimes you just need the right conditions - When someone says, "We tried that before." - ask them "Today?" - Don't worry about looking silly. Practicality tops appearance in all things. - Get yourself a fanny pack - they're surprisingly amazing! I might even need to get myself a bigger fanny pack. I can't have just one.

MIAMI SWIM WEEK CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY Paraiso Miami Swim Week, widely known as Miami Swim Week, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. A unique event featuring 60 countries, it hopes to attract over 30,000 attendees and over 7,500 global buyers this season. Natalija Dedic Stojanovic, the co-founder and creative director of Paraiso Miami Swim Week, talks to Fashion Network about this special edition. 🧐 What does the swimwear market represent in the United States today? 🧜♀️ The swimwear market is overlooked but plays a vital role within the fashion industry. With the sports and swimwear market in the United States valued at over US$13 billion, it's anticipated to experience steady growth over the next five years. Two significant shifts in people's lifestyles are fueling this growth and increasing demand. Initially, swimsuits were primarily reserved for beach outings, with people typically indulging in one vacation annually. Nowadays, swimwear seamlessly integrates into everyday fashion, and individuals are embracing multiple tropical getaways throughout the year. 🧐 How do young designer brands intend to assert themselves against the big names? 🧜♀️ Everyone is on the hunt for something fresh and unique that catches the eye. Swimwear brands are competing just like ready-to-wear brands do in their market. The challenge lies in how often you can reinvent the bathing suit. It's tough, but creativity prevails, and designers surprise us each year with new swim trends showcased on swim week runways. 🧐 Swimwear is one of the most polluting clothing industries. How are brands adapting to sustainability issues? 🧜♀️ The fashion industry, overall, is the second-biggest polluter globally, and this includes the swimwear industry. Some brands, like Natasha Tonic, have taken sustainability to the next level by creating swimwear made from hemp, a fully biodegradable material. Others are trying to adopt as much as they can by participating in take-back programs, planting trees and corals, and using fabric made from recycled bottles. 🧐 What themes will you be discussing at this season's Summer Fashion Summit? 🧜♀️ Summer Fashion Summit was introduced as an educational aspect to the entirety of Miami Swim Week. Our focus will be on mastering wholesale strategies, distinguishing oneself in a saturated market, brand growth strategies, and finding the optimal balance between traditional and social media. Additionally, we'll have presentations on trend forecasting by WGSN and Trendalytics. read more: https://lnkd.in/g9z4yQ9Z #meetaverse #fashionweek #fashion #ar #ai #crypto #investmeent

Great product review on the ManTripping blog by James Hills yesterday - a few highlights: · "Straight from the icy fjords of Norway, this little gem is a travel friendly accessory that will keep you comfortable hiking in Utah, fishing in Montana, or Skiing in Tahoe." · "While many may perceive the Hedgehog Boot and Glove Dryer as a winter-specific tool, its superior drying technology and compact design make it a versatile solution for wet gear in any season. Whether it's drying out hiking boots after a spring trek, airing out your waders after some late spring fly fishing, or ensuring your athletic equipment is dry and ready for the next game, the Hedgehog offers year-round drying solutions." · "What I really like about it though is the flexibility to take it with me on trips. For instance, let's say you were going hiking in one of Utah's Mighty Five National Parks and your hiking boots got soaked while fording a stream ... right now your only option would be to hang it out over night and hope for the best. If you planned ahead though and had one of the Hedgehog driers you can fix that problem quickly and be ready for tomorrow's hike in perfectly dry boots once again!" 🌊Body Tech Revolutionizing Swim Gear🌊 Saira Patel, founder of rsspcts, has always been reluctant to jump into a pool or ocean because of the "pain and suffering that follows". For swimmers with diverse hair types, traditional swim caps may cause tangles, breakage and dryness . According to the CDC, black people drown at a rate 1.4 times the rate of whites. Now, rsspcts is partnering with the Fashion and Body Tech Lab in the College of Human Ecology (CHE) to invent a swim cap with water sealing properties, keeping all hair types completely dry. Patel found the lab through FazeHub, a NY state program that connects entrepreneurs to leaders in manufacturing innovation. Under the leadership of Fatma Baytar, the team seeks to expand access to swimming and water recreation by scanning a 360º view of study participant's heads, hairlines, hair volume, head circumference and more! Baytar states "we're empowering women by helping to design something they will wear and feel comfortable in." The end goal is to promote inclusivity and well-being while helping people of color save on hair routine costs associated with aqua activities.
