Encouraging our employees to be active pays off! 🤾 👋 💚 At Nortera, we are committed to having a positive social impact on our employees, which is why we promote healthy lifestyle habits among our teams. 🏊🧘🧡 Each year, our permanent employees have the opportunity to be reimbursed for expenses related to physical activities, up to $250.00. Eligible expenses are registration fees for a gym, sports club, or physical activity (e.g. yoga class, swimming). ⚖️ It is recognized that moving brings its share of benefits to the body and mind such as: 🏃 Better stress management; 🏃 Improved concentration, mood, attention, and creativity; 🏃 Improves productivity; 🏃 And much more. 🌸 🏋️ Both outside the work week and in the office, getting active does great good for the body and mind and everyone comes out a winner. This #FlourishingFriday post, we would like to share another activity that you can do to add more wellness in your life: mindful walking. Mindful walking is essentially walking with full awareness of just the experience of walking, focused on each step and of our breath. It can be done anywhere, whether you are in a peaceful park or with others in the office parking space. It can also be done in between work hours, such as 10 minutes during a lunch break, intentionally such as in a planned activity, or as integrated in a regular tasks that takes us outdoors like going shopping or running errands. We think it’s safe to say that summer is now in full swing here in Asheville! ☀️ We love this bright sunny time of year; the light days are filled with opportunities for reflection, and the warmth from the sun brings energy to long and joyful days! However, it’s still important to remember to prioritize your body’s wellness while enjoying the fruitful outdoor opportunities the summer provides, so today we wanted to share 3 of our fave tips for maintaining physical wellness this summer! 1. Stay Hydrated: drink plenty of water, each water rich foods like melon and cucumbers, and moderate alcohol and caffeine when out in the heat as they can dehydrate you. 2. Protect Your Skin: use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and find (or bring) shade with you when needed! 3. Stay Active Safely: Outdoor activities like swimming and biking can help you get healthy exercise in the good weather summer usually has, but make sure to focus on doing these activities in the earlier or later part of the day to avoid heat exhaustion, and listen to your body by resting when necessary. #SummerSafety #StayActive #OutdoorExercise #SummerWellness #WellnessTips #Asheville #AshevilleNC #NC #NCoutdoors #AshevilleTrails
