https://lnkd.in/gf64h-Ta Article title: Occupational burnout Author(s): Tzu-Ching Sung* Journal: Archives of Community Medicine and Public Health Journal ISSN: 2455-5479 Abstract: During the 1960s, the term “burnout” originated as an explanation of the effect on an individual who struggled with substance use disorder [1]. Burnout was first identified as a potential cause of attrition in various fields by Freudenberger in 1974 [2]. Since 1974, many scientific studies on this mental circumstance have been published. Freudenberger defined burnout as an individual who were exhausted by extreme demands on energy, capitals, or strength that would lead them to become ineffective in achieving the intents and purposes [3]. Numerous published studies on this mental condition cited Freudenberger as the first to describe burnout [4]. Burnout has been widely deliberated health problems of mental condition. People may face socioeconomic challenges, and confront the increasing pressure in their daily lives, predominantly in the workplace. Consequently, those in various professions and subdivisions suffer from work-related exhaustion, fatigue, and stress. The most noticeable marks are often denoted as burnout syndrome [4]. #Occupationalburnout #Addiction #SubstanceAbuse #CommunityBehavioralHealth #Biostatistics #HealthServices #CommunityAcquiredPneumonia #CommunityDwelling #Peertechz #CommunityHealth #CommunityHealthAwareness #CommunityHealthCampaigns #CommunityHealthHazards #CommunityHealthNeeds #CommunityHealthPromotion #CommunityHealthServices #CommunityHealthSurveys #CommunityHealthcare #CommunityIntervention #CommunityMentalHealth #CommunityNursing #CommunityPharmacy #CommunityTreatmentAndManagement #EnvironmentalHealth #PeertechzPublications #Epidemics #Endemics #Epidemiology #GlobalAwareness #HealthEconomics #InsuranceMedicine #OccupationalSafetyAndHealth #PublicHealthDentistry #PublicHealthEmergency #PublicHealthInterventions #PublicHealthSurveillance #PublicPolicy #SanitationAndHealth

Mutual respect plays a crucial role in promoting better health and well-being. When individuals feel valued and respected, it fosters positive relationships that reduce stress and anxiety, which can improve mental and emotional health. In environments where mutual respect is practiced, people are more likely to engage in open communication, collaborate effectively, and create supportive social networks, all contributing to overall physical and mental well-being. #publichealth #covid #health #coronavirus #healthcare #globalhealth #medicine #pandemic #publichealthmatters #community #mentalhealth #healtheducation #science #wellness #stayhome #healthylifestyle #healthy #socialdistancing #research #prevention #education #repost #epidemiology #staysafe #nutrition #medical #healthequity #awareness

Exploring the transformative potential of Contextual-Conceptual Therapy in suicide prevention and treatment: A qualitative inquiry. Mental health is crucial for overall well-being, yet in the US, one in six adults deals with mental illness, with 40% of suicide victims having a prior diagnosis. Despite this, there's limited research on new ways to prevent suicide. Contextual-Conceptual Therapy (CCT) offers a fresh approach, focusing on a person's strengths and true self to tackle suicidal thoughts, developed over 25 years with 16,000 patients in Seattle. Though anecdotal evidence supports its effectiveness, formal evaluation is lacking. This study interviews 11 former clients to understand CCT's impact, revealing increased curiosity and self-confidence as key tools against suicide. With mental health challenges affecting many, CCT shows promise in addressing suicide and mental illness, marking a crucial step forward in prevention efforts. https://lnkd.in/gPU3GGvp #PublicHealth #GlobalHealth #HealthPolicy #Epidemiology #HealthEquity

In our fast-paced digital world, the rate at which we process information has significantly increased over the last five years, paralleling a rise in mental health diagnoses. Research published in the "Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health" and discussions in "Psychology Today" highlight a connection between increased screen time and heightened anxiety and attention issues. To maintain mental well-being, professionals must be selective with their information intake, akin to choosing a healthy diet. 【The Impact of Social Support, Psychosocial Characteristics, and Contextual Factors on Racial Disparities in Hypertension between Black and White Women】 Full article: https://lnkd.in/gsQcbuhv (Authored by Miranda Reiter, et al., from University of North Carolina at Pembroke (USA), etc.) Although Americans from all racial groups have experienced increasing rates of hypertension in recent years, the prevalence of #hypertension among Black Americans is among the highest in the world, and significantly higher than that of Whites. Because racial disparities in hypertension are not fully explained by behavioral or socioeconomic factors, this study examines the effects of social support, psychosocial characteristics, and contextual adulthood factors on hypertension. #Blood_Pressure #Health_Disparities #Racial_Discrimination #Social_Epidemiology

People with overweight or obesity are vulnerable to increases in bodyweight following symptoms of depression, a new study has found. MRC Epidemiology Unit researchers say that although the weight gain is only relatively small, even small short-term changes in weight could lead to larger weight changes in the long-term. First author Dr Julia Mueller said: “People with a high BMI are already at greater risk from other health conditions, so this could potentially lead to a further deterioration in their health. Monitoring and addressing depressive symptoms in individuals with overweight or obesity could help prevent further weight gain and be beneficial to both their mental and physical health.” Senior author Dr Kirsten Rennie said: “Apps on our phones make it possible for people to answer short questions at home more frequently and over extended periods of time, which provides much more information about their wellbeing. This technology could help us understand how changes in mental health influence behaviour among people with overweight or obesity and offer ways to develop timely interventions when needed.” Read more about this research 👇 #MentalHealth #Depression #Obesity #PublicHealth #Research #CambridgeResearch #CambridgeUniversity

https://lnkd.in/ghS-Zc2E Article title: Forced Marriage and Mental Health by migrants in Germany Author(s): Jan Ilhan Kizilhan* Journal: Archives of Community Medicine and Public Health Journal ISSN: 2455-5479 Abstract: Background and Objectives: The study examines the extent to which a link exists between forced marriage and the frequency of mental illness. Methods: Female migrants both in forced marriages and not in forced marriages with a Turkish background were compared in psychosomatic clinics in Germany with regard to their psychological complaints. Results: Turkish women in forced marriages suffer from mental health problems with significantly greater frequency and, on average, have attempted suicide at least four times. Conclusion: They suffer the consequences of a forced marriage for their entire lives, and they require special psychosocial counselling and both medical and therapeutic treatment which takes specific cultural and migration aspects into consideration. #ForcedMarriage #MentalHealth #Suicide #Migration #Addiction #SubstanceAbuse #CommunityBehavioralHealth #Biostatistics #HealthServices #CommunityAcquiredPneumonia #CommunityDwelling #Peertechz #CommunityHealth #CommunityHealthAwareness #CommunityHealthCampaigns #CommunityHealthHazards #CommunityHealthNeeds #CommunityHealthPromotion #CommunityHealthServices #CommunityHealthSurveys #CommunityHealthcare #CommunityIntervention #CommunityMentalHealth #CommunityNursing #CommunityPharmacy #CommunityTreatmentAndManagement #EnvironmentalHealth #PeertechzPublications #Epidemics #Endemics #Epidemiology #GlobalAwareness #HealthEconomics #InsuranceMedicine #OccupationalSafetyAndHealth #PublicHealthDentistry #PublicHealthEmergency #PublicHealthInterventions #PublicHealthSurveillance #PublicPolicy #SanitationAndHealth
