If anyone wants to get an idea of what's its like as a physician to work in a hospital system, you have to look no further than what's coming out of the kitchen. Specifically the eggs they make. While it is theoretically possible in a hospital to get a whole egg that's cooked over the grill and made to order, they can be hard to get. Someone is not always working the grill, or if they are the line can be long. As a busy physician this often makes getting freshly cooked eggs a no go. So the other option is the premade eggs. Let me walk you through this process: 1. Take egg beaters from a carton and pour them in a large bedpan 2. Pour in a colossal amount of heavy cream 3. Steam the life out of them until the resemble SpongeBob, both in appearance and in taste 4. (Optional) Add a midwestern amount of cheese to the eggs before you steam them dry to make them very unhealthy but somewhat edible Eggs are something that can be very tasty and pretty healthy. The hospital finds a way to make them neither. Now take that whole process of ruining eggs and apply the same administrative mentality to their employed physicians. Voila, the steamed eggs of physician jobs. #hospital #medicine #healthcare #eggs

Nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities face their own unique challenges when it comes to the nutritional needs of their residents. Here are the four most common obstacles we hear from our clients: 1️⃣Ensuring consistent food handling training across all of their facilities 2️⃣High staff turnover across locations and limited access to consistent training 3️⃣Maintaining the trust of the resident's families when it comes to food safety 4️⃣Proactively managing mental health to stave off reduced interest in food The stakes are high with this vulnerable population. That's why we put together a handy checklist for safe food handling in our latest blog article: https://bit.ly/4eVeVWc #foodsafety #nursinghomes #nutrition #healthcare #skillednursing #fandb #compliancetraining #learninganddevelopement

🚨⚠️ The Dangerous Consequences of a Vacant Sterile Processing Manager Role ⚠️🚨 In the intricate healthcare ecosystem, every role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients. This could lead to contaminated instruments being used in procedures, increasing the likelihood of patient infections and complications. Diminished Staff Morale and Productivity: A vacant leadership role can lead to uncertainty and confusion among staff members. Without clear direction and guidance, morale may suffer, and productivity could decline, impacting the overall quality of care provided by the facility. What is the best "Definition For Opportunity" ? Part 1 To me, opportunity is a privilege—a unique advantage of being in a position or possessing something impactful or relevant. It's a chance that can transform you into a better person if handled wisely .Opportunity isn't just a random occurrence; it's a stepping stone that enhances your life and exposes you to new adventures and experiences. *My Experience with Opportunity* As a Principal Catering Officer (though a Food Technologist by training) in my workplace, I have had the privilege of serving on the Quality Improvement Committee, the Mental Health Committee, and as the Secretary of the World Food Day Committee for my department at the Health Service Commission level. Additionally, I am one of the hospital managers where I currently work. These opportunities have significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth, allowing me to meet and interact with a diverse range of people, across departments; both within and outside the hospital. *The Skills I've Developed* Being a member of these committees has endowed me with numerous skills, including: - **Communication Skills**: Interacting with various stakeholders, from patients to colleagues, has honed my ability to convey information effectively and empathetically. - **Customer Service Skills**: Ensuring patient satisfaction and addressing their concerns promptly has been a crucial part of my role. - **Interpersonal Relations**: Working closely with different teams and individuals has enhanced my ability to build and maintain positive relationships. - **Problem-Solving Skills**: As a hospital manager, I frequently handle challenging situations, such as calming distressed patients and ensuring protocols are followed to prevent chaos. - **Leadership and Management**: Overseeing the quality and cleanliness of hospital linens required setting benchmarks, collecting data, and taking swift action to maintain standards. - **Listening Skills**: Engaging with school children during mental health programs has improved my ability to listen actively and communicate effectively with younger individuals. - **Attention to Detail**: Monitoring the cleanliness standards and quality of hospital environments to prevent infections demands a keen eye for detail and thoroughness. - **Presentation Skills**: Serving on the Mental Health Committee gave me the chance to present a one-hour program on 106.1 FM, representing General Hospital Ikorodu, discussing mental health topics. - **Coordination and Organizational Skills**: As the secretary of the World Food Day Committee for my department, I was responsible for coordinating efforts across 28 hospitals, writing proposals, attracting sponsors, and ensuring clear communication. - **Financial Management**: Handling fund collection for the World Food Day program, ensuring accurate accounting and transparency, and resolving any discrepancies. I say cheeky things & help science-backed skincare brands magnetize the right clients with medical marketing tricks ✨ Passionate about improving medical literacy & inclusivity in the beauty industry 🌸 Nurse + Copywriter
Growing up, my mom would make the BEST blackberry pies 🥧 Freshly picked blackberries, a savory doughy crust rolled out from scratch, topped with a dollop of vanilla icecream 🤤 She's ruined pie for me. As in, I'm now so conditioned *cough* alright, downright spoiled, and am a harsh critic whenever pie is presented to me. I mean, one COULD make a pie with some frozen blackberries, and COULD just buy the crust from the supermarket, and COULD use miracle whip instead of french vanilla double churned icecream. And the pie COULD turn out perfectly edible. But imagine, having a homemade pie that had all the RIGHT ingredients, portioned in the RIGHT amount, and carefully crafted by the highest culinary skills. #PrecisionHealth aims to do that. We should be expecting the same quality of my Mom's home-cooked pie and be privy to raising a critical eyebrow when we consider our healthcare. It's not just about having access to medical treatments 👉🏻 We're talking pinpointed approaches specifically made for YOUR genomes! 🧬 Or taste buds! 😜 That is the future of medicine people 👏🏻 Let's innovate this fantasy into reality 👏🏻 🌟 Honorable shoutout to The Bear. Certain aspects of your job in healthcare can lead to weight gain, despite you knowing what healthy foods are and aren't. The stress, jam-packed schedule, eating at any opportunity, drug rep lunches, food in the nurse's lounge, you name it. But the answer isn't just changing what or how much you eat first, it's addressing WHY you're eating.
