Founder of Scoliosis Reduction Center®, A Leading Expert in Chiropractic Care & Conservative Scoliosis Treatment
In the realm of medical treatment, particularly concerning spinal health, it's crucial to recognize the distinct yet overlapping goals across different life stages. Adolescents primarily seek curve reduction and posture enhancement, aiming for a solid foundation as they transition into adulthood. This proactive approach is critical for mitigating curve progression in later years, ensuring a more favorable long-term prognosis. On the other hand, adults' treatment objectives often include pain management alongside posture and curve improvement. The onset of spinal rigidity in adulthood necessitates strategies to enhance flexibility and function, addressing pain and improving overall quality of life. The nuanced understanding of these goals informs our approach, tailoring interventions to meet the specific needs of each age group effectively. #SpinalHealth #AdolescentTreatment #AdultCare #PostureImprovement #PainManagement #MedicalInnovation #HealthcareProfessionals #PatientCare #MedicalResearch #WellnessJourney

📢 New blog out now! In our latest blog, "Dear Pediatric Provider", we want to share why the manner in which you tell your patients that they are overweight has the potential to cause harm. We recognize the internalized weight bias that many providers hold and how, out of fear of what might come with higher weights, they jump to conclusions. We want to provide feedback about how this can lead to patients showing up in our office months or years later with serious eating disorders. Click below to read some alternative suggestions to having weight-centric discussions. https://lnkd.in/gcTX5NSx

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden and unexplained death of an otherwise healthy baby, usually occurring during sleep and most often affecting infants between two and four months old. While the exact cause of SIDS is unknown, risk factors include sleeping on the stomach, soft bedding, parental smoking, premature birth, and certain maternal conditions. To reduce the risk, it’s recommended to place babies on their backs to sleep, use a firm mattress without loose bedding, maintain a smoke-free environment, and have regular paediatric check ups. The loss of an infant to SIDS is profoundly distressing, and families are encouraged to seek counselling, maintain open communication, and prioritize self-care to cope with their grief. Giving birth is a complex, dynamic, and impactful experience for all birthing people. For many, it is also their first time engaging on a large scale with the medical system. The months leading up to birth, during birth, and after birth, are often a time of increased intervention by the medical system. Alongside this shift in autonomy frequently comes trauma, and it's reported that 20% to 68.6% of birthing people experience Birth Trauma.
