I'm an Army brat, I grew up in the Liberation Gospel of the Army Protestant Chapel of the Anglican deism of George Washington dating back to Valley Forge. In all the Chaple Centers is a reprint of an oil painting of four chaplains, two protestan, a Catholic and a rabbi, praying on a sinking troop ship torpedoed by the Germans and going down with the ship after giving up their own life vests to soldiers who needed one, All other religions are bullshit, Currently, Pro-Life chaplains are an existential threat to the good order and discipline of the Army community, I mean, this is Tommy Tuberville in uniform and running a private ministry out of his duffle bag in a Campus Crusade for Christ kind of way, There is a reason Waashington was a deist and it has to do with the Society of the Cincinnati, These were the staff officers who served with him and it cause Thomas Jefferson to do absolute back flips through his asshole that he wasn't a member by his social status he inherited from his father. The reason why Washington was a deist is that his family remained Royalist through the Calvinist insurgency of Cromwell and the Round Heads and the religious enthusiasm which was manipulaated to created the conditions for the Glorious Revolution, Oliver Cromwell is what Guy Fawkes had in mind with the Gun Powder Plot, the January 8 insurgency of its day, Calvinism violates Free Will, The TULIP doctrine is a post hoc justification for Why did John Calvin have Michael Servetus burned at the stake ...The answer is The Church of Reason, Presbyterians really buy into the logic of Calvinism, When you connect his logic with the libertarian logic of Ayn Rand's "Virtue of Selfishness" and Objectivism, you can justify anything, legally. That's what went wrong with Heidegger and Nazi Germany, And that's the logic you are using to misconstrue Christianity as a sort of academic stand up comic doing Cabaret in Berlin, 1937, the year Kurt Lewin was fired and he was able to get to America, He had no illusions of what was coming. If Hitler had just resettled the Jews and Gypsies like we did the Japanese and enlisted their men his hegemony, he would have won the war. Then he could have killed them. The Pro-Life Chaplains are of that intellectual tradition, Which is why they love Thomas Jefferson, The sort of pretzel logic he employed to sustain the conceit that his personal property rights were superior to Sally Hemings' human rights gives great comfort to the intellectual crowd you hang out with, I don't understand how Judaism got from Genesis 15:5 to Eschatology. Genesis 15:5 is purely Leaves of Grass and not Gotterdammerung. Eschatology is a vertical trajectory and Genesis 15:5 is all Yellow Brick Road as captured by 2001: A Space Odyssey, Like Calvinism, Eschatology is a false god. I.m just saying, .

On the rise of Christian Nationalism in the U.S. (in lieu of our great and historical tradition of Patriotism + separation of Church and State): If pro-abortion supporters are biblical murders, what about pro-hatred supporters? Colossians 3:8 “But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.” Once we accept a new citizen to the U.S., by birth or by naturalization, are we not all national brothers and sisters irrespective of religious denomination? 1 John 3:15 “Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.” Is economic inequality biblically justified? Ecclesiastes 5:8 If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent perversion of justice and righteousness in a province, do not marvel at the matter; for high official watches over high official, and higher officials are over them. I personally don't believe abortion is only a woman's right to choose. I also don't believe a woman who has been raped or subject to incest or whose life is in danger should be forced to bear the child. Christianity should not be about screaming biblical verses at the top of one's lungs and calling for war against others. Christianity should be about deep reflection on how to build positive bridges during challenging times. Most especially, SELF CONTROL Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” https://lnkd.in/dfsPT7Wa

A superb article from Stewardship, highlighting the strong connection between faith and generosity. Although Christian-centric, I suspect that it translates to other religions too. It's about "walking the talk", and being authentic, bringing to the forefront the difference between culture and faith (ie. non-practicing and practicing). Have a look here..>> 4https://lnkd.in/enwTugWd

According to Pew Research "None" is now the largest religious category. In this talk I set out some of reasons for the decline of Christian belief including - Breakdown of the Family - specifically decrease in fatherhood participation, and its impact on religious practice - Sexual Revolution - disorients the person and relationships between men and women -Feminism & Smashing the Patriarchy — “Flight from Woman” -Egalitarianism and Pantheism - Tocqueville’s prediction of the rise of pantheism in democratic societies -Technology + Technological Society: - Scientism: vision of a technical solution to evil, sin, suffering - Humanitarianism and what I call “Almost Christianity” - if I help the poor and am kind, why do I need the virgin birth and the ressurection - Failures of the Church: Scandal / Corruption / Assimilation / Failure to teach and catechize including non-linguistic catechesis - Confusion about the nature and destiny of the human person and what it means to be an embodied, embedded person The reasons are many, and this is a broad overview. As I continue to work on this, I'd love to hear other perspectives and reasons for the decline of belief or let me know if you disagree with any of these reasons.

Today, let's talk about the link between religion and war. Many believe that religious differences are the root cause of conflicts between nations. However, upon analyzing recent wars or cold wars including Israel-Hamas, Russia-Ukraine, India-Pakistan, China-America, China-Taiwan, and China-India, it becomes clear that the major reason for war is simply a power game. Greed, jealousy, foolishness, and ego of some politicians are the driving forces behind these wars, not religious differences. It's important to understand the true motivations behind conflicts to find a path towards peace. #politics #war #religion #peace
