The reality is that return is often realized while students are enrolled in the program. And the benefits continue past graduation. At the Oregon Executive MBA in Portland, we understand that investing in higher education is a big decision. That's why we are proud to share that our students see a return on their investment while they are still in the program. JWMI Graduate Student | Retired Chemical Engineer | Affiliate Member at MIT Alumni For Climate Action with expertise in Climate Action | Friend of Johns Hopkins University Energy Policy and Climate
If 100 MBA candidates were applying to the Poets & Quants' 8th best but cheapest online MBA programs, I am 1 of the 25--Yippie! I was given a scholarship, too! In comparison, UVA’s Darden School of Business is the Poets &Quants' 8th best on-campus school and has an acceptance rate of 30%. So, Jack Welch Management Institute is more selective! 'The Jack Welch Management Institute, the legacy of the former General Electric chairman and CEO who died this year at 84, shed nearly 40% of its acceptance rate in one year — and more than 60% since 2018 — to become the hardest online MBA program to get into in 2020. JWMI had an acceptance rate of 24.8% this year, lower than 46 other ranked schools; it was followed by Imperial College Business School, the first international school to join Poets&Quants‘ annual ranking, at 28.8%, and Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business (31.3%), Rochester Institute of Technology’s Saunders College of Business (33.3%), and American University’s Kogod School of Business (49.6%).' #MBA #JWMI #ChemicalEngineer #BiologicalScientist #FriendOfMIT #FriendOfJohnsHopkinsUniversityOfAdvancedAcademicPrograms

This is a terrific video from Eddie Asbie, Executive Director of Admissions for the Two-Year MBA at Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management. It conveys the importance of being authentic in the application process and this line, in particular, caught my attention: "We want you to acknowledge any weaknesses to improve yourself both personally and professionally." I think we often think we need to present our 'perfect' selves to gain admission to a top business school like #Cornell #Johnson. It's such a competitive process that it makes sense to feel that way. But the thing is that the MBA is an opportunity for transformational growth and if you don't have anything to work on, one could argue, why do you need the MBA? It's totally fine to acknowledge your weaknesses, in addition to your strengths, and provide a strong argument on *how* the program can help. Think of business school as an "academic" gym and show self-awareness of what you want/need to work on. 😊 The final application deadline for this admissions cycle is April 10.

The Growing Appeal of One-Year MBA Programs The one-year full-time MBA has long been the pinnacle of European programs (INSEAD, Oxford, Cambridge, IMD, Warwick, Imperial, IE, and ESADE). Then, other programs caught up, with HEC now offering a 12-month program and IESE and LBS offering 15-month MBAs for those who desire it. European programs set the trend, followed by India with ISB. However, the triumph of the one-year MBA is particularly notable in the United States, as mid-career programs at MIT, Stanford, and USC Marshall are one year long. Even the most reluctant US business schools, such as Kellogg, NYU Stern, Cornell, Duke, and Notre Dame, now offer 12-month programs while maintaining the 21-month format for those who prefer a more traditional schedule.
