The Barbie Dream Gap Project is a global initiative launched by Mattel in 2018 to address the barriers that prevent girls from reaching their full potential. Research has shown that starting at age five, girls begin to doubt their abilities more than boys, influenced by stereotypes and societal biases. The project aims to close this gap by challenging gender stereotypes and providing girls with the resources and support they need to continue believing in themselves. Key elements of the project includes: UCLA’s Center for Scholars & Storytellers developed a curriculum that supports social-emotional development and encourages interest in STEM careers among young girls. Collaborations with organizations like Inspiring Girls International to deliver Dream Gap workshops and reach thousands of girls worldwide. HAT-TRICK – this year marks a true #milestone in my life. In 2025 I intend to achieve a feat no one has done before I am attempting to complete a hat trick of 14 highest peaks above #8000m, for a third time and the #7summits. As I tackle this new challenge, I am committing to #donate 100% of any funds raised as part of this project, to the work of the Nimsdai Foundation. This hat-trick will be a #worldfirst. Every step I have taken since #ProjectPossible has led me here – all your support and encouragement has made this possible. I am so grateful. On the journey to the hat-trick, I ask you to once again join me and help support the Nimsdai Foundation. With your support, and through sponsorship, we aim to raise £1,138,000 — the total elevation in feet of the 14 peaks. I’ve climbed and will continue to scale. This funding will empower communities through education, inspire through adventure, and protect through critical initiatives – like the #PorterHouse. Every step I take up these mountains, I carry your support with me. Your generosity, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Let’s prove together that no summit is too high when we stand united. Did you know that prior to The Venus Project, Jacque Fresco referred to the project as Sociocyberneering? https://lnkd.in/eEbuBbWm Prior to The Venus Project, Fresco directed Sociocyberneering Inc. a non-profit organization he founded in 1971 in Miami, Florida. During this time Fresco refined the bulk of the ideas that he would later present as The Venus Project. Fresco’s visionary concepts were calibrated to the era’s energy, materials, and global population, and offered a forethinking response to global socio-economic reality. Foreseeing an unsustainable world, he emphasized sustainable resource management and addressed diverse challenges such as consumerism, waste, war, poverty, and politics. His forward-thinking ideas aimed to prevent the trajectory leading to the current situation depicted by the BAU2 scenario in the Limits to Growth. https://lnkd.in/dhC5z9T8 #TheVenusProject #TVP #rbe #JacqueFresco #ЖакФреско #ПроектВенера #Sociocyberneering

What a great video about the positive impact that Choose Creativity is making in the world! I recommend investing 3 minutes to watch and learn more about this wonderful organization.
What a night!!! Thank you to all of you who attended the wildly fun and inspiring Choose Creativity Awards. We were serious when we said, “Creativity is fun!!!” Such epic speeches and videos celebrating our honorees, our mission and our impact. Check out (and share) the new video we premiered last night about our work in East Harlem. As Marina and Kevin said, our donors support roughly 90% of the cost to bring our curriculum to a school. If you gave last night, we are beyond grateful. If you couldn’t make it, you can still help! Make a donation today: https://lnkd.in/efF4Heua https://lnkd.in/eSv-8eTC

Hi all! As some of you may know, I am currently training for a half marathon in May, and an additional half marathon in July. For my July half marathon, Run Melbourne, I am proud to be fundraising money on behalf of VACCA - Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency. VACCA supports children and families through various means, including: providing youth services (Koorie Kids Stay @ School, Barreng Moorop Youth Justice Program), establishing out-of-home support (foster care, kinship care, respite), tackling family violence, and facilitating legal access via justice support programs. This cause means a great deal to me due to the far-reaching inequities Indigenous Australians are more likely to face. According to a 2024 ABS report, 41% of households experienced food insecurity and 29% of children aged 15 and over smoked daily. Additionally, AIHW reported that 60% of children in detention in the 2024 June quarter were Indigenous. If you have any money to donate, big or small, it would mean a great deal to me. You will also be contributing to fixing the systemic inequities attributed by colonisation and years of oppression. In Australia, donations of A$2 and over are tax deductible.
