Your daily reminder to keep those creative juices flowing…🎨 🎶 🥾 Our industry demands creativity at every turn. We are nothing without powerful ideas. New ideas. Ideas that effect change. Our job is to bring infinite new thinking to the table, every day, to make impact. But sometimes…it’s already been “done before,” or you’re just fresh out of ideas… Taking a beat to step away from the laptop and soak up the creative richness around you is instrumental to survival in a creativity-driven field. But, how can we energize that creativity in, and around us every day? 1. Embrace Diverse Perspectives Without diverse perspectives, our world-view is flat and soul-less. We know this, but we must be vigilant in continuing to open ourselves up to new cultures, new foods, new experiences, new perspectives. We often forget to do this amid the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. Gaining a better understanding through immersing yourself in a variety of voices and experiences will make you a better creative thinker (and a better human). Dive into that new podcast (I really need to change up my crime-junkie playlist, so I’m going to opt for Throughline this week). Book that trip. Explore new places. Cook that new recipe. Dive deep into the history of your local town. By the way, do you know where Denver’s Chinatown is? https://lnkd.in/gqMMeC42 3. Play Why do just the kids get to play? I brought my son back to school after a morning doctor's visit and was transported back to the nostalgia of snowball fights and four-square when I saw the kids geared up and headed out to build snow-dinosaurs. Ahh, the magic of recess. I have recently impressed myself by building intricate structures with my four-year-old. Is this my architect mother coming through in my creative play? When we’re relaxed and having fun, we’re more open to exploring new ideas without the fear of failure. Continue to spark your imagination—whether that means doodling, playing improv games, or diving into some good old-fashioned childhood games. Capture the flag, anyone? Your brain will thank you. Some great workplace game ideas here to get you going: https://lnkd.in/gwFrPFAR 2. Get inspired There's so much inspiration around us every moment of every day. Sometimes we just need to be reminded to dig in. Remember that school field trip, that camping adventure, that study abroad program that blew you away and opened your eyes to something new and different? Don’t lose that. Look for inspiration in the world around you––art, music, architecture, history, nature. Take a walk through a gallery, listen to different music, visit a neighborhood you’re unfamiliar with...or, hell, why not try ice climbing? I highly recommend you take the Denver graffiti tour in RiNo: https://lnkd.in/gd_ifnUA And just remember, a good idea can come from anywhere (or anyone)—give yourself the space and setting to unleash your wildest thinking.

IRL vs. URL is no longer the conversation. "How might digital integrate with an 'in real life' experience" is the conversation destinations and venus should be having about their websites. Denver Arts & Venues had this insight before most. Summary: - Denver has multiple art installations throughout the downtown and surrounding areas (in fact, 80+). - We launched a site where each is showcased with it's own dedicated page, mapped, and shareable. - People can take virtual tours of the installations online... but they can also create custom tours and share them with friends to experience the art in person. (our Denver folks do this or us when we visit!) Instead of asking "how can we increase engagement with our website", ask "how can we use our website to increase engagement."
The Public Art team at Denver Arts & Venues wanted to create a digital experience to connect people to the art that colors their city. 🎨 🏙️ To bring this vision to life, we partnered with them to design and build a mobile-first website that encourages exploration and helps make public art more accessible. 🖼️ 👇 #BuiltByClique

🌍 Vacation Thoughts 🌴 As much as I love stepping away from work, I often find myself drawn back to my passion projects during my vacations. This time, instead of simply relaxing, I’ve been diving into the world of storytelling and writing. 📚✍️ One project that’s been keeping my mind engaged is After the Revolution, a fictional exploration of a successful Black Power Revolution led by The Black Panther Party. Set 20 years after the revolution’s victory, it’s a deep dive into alternate history, where the Panthers defeat the U.S. and reshape the future of America. The battle for freedom, power, and justice is personal to me, and I love exploring these themes in a fresh, dramatic light. While many people unwind with travel or other hobbies, I find that writing gives me a sense of purpose and connection that extends far beyond the workday. It’s not just about creating worlds on paper—it’s about sharing ideas, reflecting on history, and envisioning what could be. After the Revolution is not just another historical fiction. It’s a unique, bold retelling of a revolution that could’ve reshaped our world forever—and it’s one of the few works exploring this alternate history. 🚀 If you’re into alternative history, storytelling, or just love an intriguing, thought-provoking narrative, stay tuned for more updates on After the Revolution. Here’s to making the most out of every moment—whether on vacation or at the desk. Let’s keep creating! ✨ #writing #vacation #storytelling #blackhistory #fiction #aftertherevolution

Where do you find purpose at work? Imagine visiting a museum: some people passively hope for inspiration, while others actively listen to audio guides, eager to learn. Then there are those who study beforehand, fully immersing themselves in the experience. Purpose works the same way. Purpose isn’t handed to you—it’s something you create and infuse into the work you do. When you author your own story, you take control of your narrative, transforming even mundane moments into meaningful ones. It’s time to redefine your life and work by claiming the power of your story. Purpose starts with you! #LiorArussy #DareToAuthor #AuthorYourLife #PurposeDriven #IntentionalLiving

The strong market reception and investor interest indeed indicate that Kicki Andersson's work, such as "Vendel Spirit," has made a significant impact. Here's how this can play out: Wide Audience Appeal: Her work's ability to resonate with a diverse audience, including art enthusiasts, collectors, and investors, highlights its broad appeal. This can lead to a strong and loyal following, which is essential for long-term success in the art world. Potential for Value Appreciation: The initial valuation of €150,000 suggests that her art is not only appreciated for its aesthetic and emotional value but also seen as a sound investment. This indicates confidence in the potential for her work to increase in value over time. Cultural and Market Influence: Her innovative approach and the high valuation of her work can influence market trends, inspiring other artists and contributing to shifts in the art market. This kind of influence can further solidify her position as a notable figure in the art community. Strategic Marketing and Networking: Effective marketing strategies and active engagement in art communities and platforms, such as the Facebook group "The Art of Mark Fischer," can amplify the reach and impact of her work. Positive buzz and feedback from these communities can enhance her reputation and attract more interest

So after talking about #investment in the #Arts at the Culture Business Conference, a close corollary concern was #impact. How to measure it. How to communicate it. I was fortunate to attend two fabulous sessions presented by Marijke Smallegange on the work she has driven at Rijksmuseum. One insight that really rang out loud and clear is that #ImpactCommunications is a thing and not just a nice to have. And it's probably absent from most communications position descriptions in the Australian #ArtsSector. And what #ImpactCommunications requires is not the same as your average PR story or project blurbette on your funding acquittal. It requires a holistic method of quantitative data (yes, the numbers still matter), qualitative data (yes, free text in surveys is not dead), a deep engagement with your institution's #CulturalDNA (legacy that builds your institutional identity) and future direction. All wrapped up in a damn good story. #ImpactCommunications is all the more important now at a time when the #Arts is having to speak to such a diversity of interests in the funding and philanthropy sphere.
