Today, as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I find myself reflecting not only on his powerful words but on how they impact our everyday lives. His dream of equality, justice, and love isn’t just a chapter in history; it’s a call to action that feels just as (if not more) urgent today. When I was a child, my parents often told me my voice had power. And I stood true to that belief, voicing my opinions confidently and often landing in trouble with teachers, and adults who knew more of the world than did I. As I grew older, I started to see that not everyone was granted the same opportunities or encouragement. And as I began to travel the world, sometimes I noted that I was not afforded that opportunity either. The disparities that Dr. King fought against, the barriers that kept voices unheard, still exist across many levels of the society. It is a reminder that building an equitable world requires us to continue the work. One of Dr. King’s quotes that always stays with me is: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” This question challenges me as a business owner & a mentor. It’s why I strive to create a team where everyone gets a voice. And whether through the work we do at yellow pebble or in how I mentor others, we continue to help people and organizations step into their own power, helping them find their voice. Today, let’s honor Dr. King by living his dream in the small, everyday moments. Listen a little more. Advocate a little more. And use our platform; whatever it looks like; to lift others. #MLKJr #MLK #MLKDay
