Question for my Family Office friends. If, hypothetically, the head of a multi-generational business-owning family becomes head of a nation is the nation then part of the family enterprise for fee purposes? Could the family office charge modest basis points, or an overall fee, to perpetuate the family dynasty for at least 100 years? Does your answer depend on whether the nation is a republic or, say, a dutchy, monarchy, empire, or vassal state? Son Chau, MPA, CAP® Ben Walter Cassandra Nelson Allen Reece

Aboriginal Senior Executive connected to community drawing in experience from government, corporate and community controlled sectors.
Allyship is action. Reconciliation is actively doing something that makes a difference, in partnership not just because you think it’s a good idea in isolation. Justice is standing up and doing what is right. Good intentions without genuine commitment and action to rectify what is wrong contributes to the problem. Standing back and doing nothing while communities and people hurt and cry out for help is why we haven’t moved forward to Close the Gap. Keep the Fire Burning is about a legacy. Not hollow words or a t-shirt so that people can feel like they’ve done something when they’ve stood back when they had the chance and often power to act. Keep the Fire Burning is about the future. We can’t do it alone. We need true allies to work with us, walk with us, stand with us. But if there isn’t real change, real action, then will the future be that much different to the past or the present?

Kansas friends, if you agree with these principles & want to be a part of Principles First, just let me know. We've got a growing center-right Kansas contingent with a difference to make. 💪😊 If you're in other states, I can help you get connected there. www.principlesfirst.us Declaration of Principles: 1. Integrity, character, & virtue matter. 2. Every person has dignity, quality, and worth. 3. Truth, honesty, rationality, and facts are non-negotiable. 4. The Constitution and the rule of law are paramount. 5. Our government is a limited one with enumerated powers. 6. Congress writes laws, the executive executes laws, and the courts interpret laws. 7. Government closest to the people is most accountable. 8. People reach their full potential when they are free. 9. Free and functioning markets deliver prosperity. 10. Equality of opportunity, not equality of outcomes. 11. Government must responsibly steward resources for the next generation. 12. Civic associations, faith communities, and families should be the primary engines of our culture - not the state. 13. Strong families are the building blocks of society. 14. Sovereignty is critical to self-government. 15. America's role in the world is unique and important. #ksleg #PrinciplesFirst

As we develop reparative spatial justice strategies that reckon with, repair, and transform the racist foundations of land and housing policies in the United States, we are reminded that it is essential that we decommodify, rematriate, and increase accessibility to land for Indigenous, Black, and POC communities. Join PolicyLink and the Center for Ethical Land Transition as we discuss how communities, funders, policymakers, and landowners can advance this work, so that we may all deepen our relationships to land and upend the logics of dispossession that underpin our property system. https://lnkd.in/gFPfpq4y
Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Grounding Justice in the Land: Strategies for Advancing Reparative Spatial Justice. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.
