5 of my best tips to get you through yet another crazy travel year: ✈️ Book those flights well in advance. At least three to four months in advance for international trips and six to eight weeks for domestic trips. 🛫 Avoid basic economy fares. Friends don’t let friends book basic economy, and friends definitely don’t let friends end up with added fees and no chance of a refund in case plans need to change. 🔎 Avoid online travel agencies. I need a whole novel to cover all of the reasons, but the biggest one is the lack of consistency and care and the fact that you’re always at the bottom of the barrel when you book through an online travel agency. ✨ Look for added value. No surprises, travel is not as cheap as it once was, so finding ways to add value to your getaways is key. For example, working with a travel advisor is a great way to get access to better rates, promotions, extra perks, etc. ⏰ Give yourself maximum flexibility. Whether it’s booking the flex fare or refundable hotel rate or adding travel insurance (always have travel insurance!), give yourself lots of flexibility just in case things don’t go exactly as planned. 2024 travel, we’re ready for you! At Blazek Travels, we help make your unique travel dreams a reality. Your travel goals and desires are turned into a custom itinerary. 'According to Squaremouth's spring travel trends report, 47% of all travel insurance policies sold for spring vacations have listed a European nation as the primary destination. Additionally, many of the top destinations for this spring are associated with above-average trip costs. TravelAge West recently shared Squaremouth's data in an article focusing on alternative spring destinations that offer lower costs and fewer crowds. https://lnkd.in/e5HD-fbU #travelinsurance #travel #squaremouth #traveltrends

The post-holiday blues are definitely a thing! Any tips for getting through it? When the weather gets cold here in Tennessee and it’s time to take down the twinkle lights, there’s one thing I like to do: And you guessed it, I get a trip on the calendar so I have something to look forward to! Right now, the hubby and I are considering a trip to Sandals Dunn's River, Jamacia. And while I prep and get excited for that, I’m also treating myself to a spa visit to keep the vacation vibes alive. How do you get over that post-holiday slump? 5 of my best tips to get you through yet another crazy travel year: ✈️ Book those flights well in advance. At least three to four months in advance for international trips and six to eight weeks for domestic trips. 🛫 Avoid basic economy fares. “If you have a full-time job, you can’t travel” This is just one of the many travel myths that I have found to be FALSE! Here are some others - (Wait until you see #7) 1. Booking a year in advance for the best deals? Not necessarily true. While early birds often get good deals, airlines and hotels sometimes drop prices closer to the date. 2. Travel insurance is optional Think again! Travel insurance is crucial for covering lost luggage, medical emergencies, and other unexpected costs. It’s peace of mind you don’t want to travel without. 3. The airport is the best place to exchange currency Absolutely not! Airport exchange rates are usually the worst. It's better to use your debit card at local ATMs abroad but check for any foreign transaction fees first. 4. Hostels aren't just for party animals. There are many types of hostels catering to different age groups, and you can choose those that are more quiet, and fitting of your vibe. Some hostels even offer private rooms that are cheaper than hotels. 5. Peak season is the best time to travel Not always the case. Travelling during peak season means more crowds and higher prices. Try the shoulder or off-season for better deals and fewer tourists. 6. I need a remote job to travel Not at all! Make the most of your paid time off ( PTO ) by planning around weekends and holidays. Weekend getaways, long weekends, or even staycations in your city are great ways to enjoy travel. (If you want a list of all the holiday dates and best destinations pre-planned for you, check out the link in the comment below.) 7. Tours are for uncool people Tours have evolved! Forget one-size-fits-all; today’s tours cater to specific interests. They save you planning time, offer unique local insights, and help support the local economy. Don't let these myths hold you back from exploring the world. What are some travel myths you'd like to bust?
