We’re pleased to share the completion of the Continuous Injection Project (CIP) construction in May, with commissioning starting in early June. As of mid-June, the CIP is taking regular feedstock injections. We have begun the process of scaling up our operations to targeted levels. We are incredibly proud of the progress made by our team in hitting our commercial milestones! Stay tuned for more updates. cowboycleanfuels.com

Well thought out modular concept for the reduction of NOx emissions
We designed, manufactured, and commissioned 28 full SCR & DPF systems for a petro chemical project in Western Asia. The units were successful in reducing NOx emissions by over 90%, CO by over 47% and PM by over 20%. The units were installed on a custom-built frame and came with all pipework, controls and urea tanks and were configured to accept a certified spark arrestor silencer to complete the project.

So I don’t know about you, but I love me a good ROI calculation… Take for example a standard API plan 32 flush on a centrifugal pump. Many pumps use water with an API plan 32 (flush to the seal chamber) to lubricate & cool the seal faces. This takes advantage of waters high specific heat, relative availability, compatibility, ease to handle, etc. But what if I told you there were SIGNIFICANLY more costs beneath the surface on adding this small flush to a seal. Visualize with me.. A standard 2 gpm flush is equivalent to ~9 semi tankers of water per month per seal (or more) Convert 2 GPM = 1.05 MM gal/year Semi-tanker truck holds ~10K gallons 1.05 MM / 10K volume = 105 Semi-tankers pe year 105 tankers/year = 8.75 tankers/month!! A decent sized industrial plant may have hundreds of pumps with API plan 32 flushes. This does not scale particularly well. Let me show you a rough estimate of the costs Cost of flush water/treatment= 1.05 MMgal * ($0.50 + $3.00 + $5.55/kgal ) = $9513.36/year Assume standard 2 gal/min flush to seal Assume $0.50/kgal pretreatment costs Assume $3.00/kgal effluent disposal costs (may be less if done in-house) Assume $**5.55/kgal water (Houston general industry rate FYE 2022) **Varies by region ($0.50 near Mississippi river, $12+ near California coast) So what would I do to eliminate these costs? Use and AES dual seal with barrier system which will keep the contaminants in the process, remove heat via the seal pot, and reduce leakage to ~0.2 ml/hr (99.99% reduction) or the equivalent of a can of coke of liquid per month.. Bottom Line: If the application allows it, making the swap to a barrier support system can be an easy win with a short ROI. Check out one of our barrier system models here: https://lnkd.in/gE9HbuaA Thanks!

Safety Video on Fatal Acetic Acid Release: The safety video addresses the two key safety issues identified in the CSB’s final report that contributed to the incident: (1) valve design to prevent human error and (2) providing workers with conditions, procedures, and training to safely conduct work. The video also highlights safety recommendations made by the CSB to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Petroleum Institute, and LyondellBasell. https://lnkd.in/gtuc9WnC

"Nothing is more expensive than a missed opportunity ." — H. Jackson Brown Jr. Don't miss the CatCracking program at RefComm Galveston 2024. ***FCCU Presentation Spotlight at RefComm Galveston*** The FCC Unit is a workhorse and huge financial contributor at most refineries, and keeping it running efficiently is a major goal. There are certain spray nozzle and injector applications that can contribute to that efficiency if done properly and if spray technology is better understood. This presentation will look at Water Wash, Regenerator Off-Gas Quench, Torch Oil, and Slurry Backflush while discussing some common issues and methods to potentially improve performance that may lead to increased reliability and safety. Corrosion in the Oil Refineries is a costly concern, and controlling or mitigating the corrosion can make the difference between keeping a unit operating until the next planned outage or having to shut down prematurely. Maintaining the operating equipment so that damage is averted or minimized is also affected by spray nozzle performance. Presented by Chuck Munro of Spraying Systems Co. Mr. Chuck Munro has 30 years of experience with Spraying Systems Company assisting customers to solve problems with spray nozzle solutions. He is an active member of several industry groups, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, AMPP (formerly NACE), and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers where he has been involved with training, consultation, and application support. Currently Chuck focuses on the business development of the oil and gas and sulfuric acid industries while working to help these industries recognize ways to optimize performance, while increasing reliability and sustainability with new technologies and proven solutions.
