When Rebecca Petty learned that she and her husband were expecting their first child, feelings of excitement were accompanied by a flurry of questions. What did their benefits cover? How much did daycare cost? How many days of parental leave could they take? Rebecca said that she was met with unwavering support from her Cox colleagues and felt peace of mind with Cox’s parental benefits. Her son Walker is now six months old, and her family is still experiencing the perks of being a new mom while working at Cox. “I have the flexibility and support to step away from work and devote my time to my son at any given moment – and for that I am forever grateful.” Tap here to see more work stories and explore the power of connection: https://bit.ly/48cpctA . #lifeatcox #benefits #parentalleave #flexibility

Partnering with healthcare organizations to reimagine workforce strategy, driving innovation and solving critical talent priorities through education and career mobility.
What would you do if you went from two kids to four in the blink of an eye? That was my reality when I found out I was pregnant with identical twin girls. Already a mom to two energetic little boys, it was the biggest shock of my life and I was, frankly, terrified. But today, on my first day back at Guild as a mom of 4, I’m filled with excitement and gratitude. 💕 I couldn’t have done it without: - Guild's incredible parental benefits that provided me the support I needed during maternity leave - Reliable, quality childcare that gives me peace of mind knowing my children are in a safe, loving environment - My amazing family, friends, and colleagues who have supported me every step of the way And most importantly, I now have the confidence to thrive in this beautiful chaos! It’s not lost on me how fortunate I am. Too many parents—especially women—are forced into decisions they wouldn’t make if they had better support. 1 in 4 women leave the workforce due to lack of childcare, and that needs to change. Let’s start having the conversations that matter. How can we better support working parents, both at work and in society? I’d love to hear from other working parents—how have you managed the balance? #Grateful #BackToWork #ParentalLeave #WorkingMom #MotherOfFour #GuildFamily #ChildcareSupport #Empowerment #WorkingParents #LetsGrow

Post-Father's Day reality check... Only 13% of private sector workers have access to paid paternity leave, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Many fathers return to work full-time within two weeks of their child's birth. It's been a minute, but I remember the newborn days. And let me just say this^ is unacceptable. Whether you're a birthing parent, non-birthing parent, adoptive parent, or foster parent, welcoming a new child into your family changes everything. • Parents need paid parental leave. • Parents need support when their family grows. • Parents need their company leaders to implement policies that don't force them to choose between their livelihood and their lives. How about we celebrate fathers by giving them the time they need to care for their families. And speaking of family, my daughters nailed it this Father's Day... They gifted me a coupon book full of chores they should already be doing and drew this portrait. 🎨 #parentalleave #fathersday #paternityleave

When you graduate college you go through a season of life known as #WeddingSeason when all of your friends start to get married and you're either being asked to be in the wedding party or attend the wedding. Both can be costly to an extent with both time and money, but often very much worthy of both. Fast forward a couple of years and you move into a season of life known as #BabySeason when all of your married friends are starting their family and having children. This is a fun season of life and exciting to see the joy new life brings to your friend group. (stick with my I am getting to my point/question) Now that we're settled into the Baby season I am curious how many of you who are either in this phase of life today or have already experienced this season of life decided to leave the workforce in order to spend more time with your child(ren) or save on childcare cost? How many of you would become a #Homemaker if your finances allowed or felt called to it? What would be your driving factors that would lead you toward this role in your family and household?

4 steps to check if you're eligible for paid parental leave (max $754.87 gross per week for 26 weeks): ▪ You're the primary carer of the child ▪ You've worked an average of 10 hours a week over any 26 weeks in the 52 weeks before the baby's due date ▪ You won't be working (eg, you’ll be taking parental leave) ▪ You've applied before returning to work and before the child turns 1 If you meet the above, congrats! You're eligible for the payment.

Especially for those parents that needs to be more hands-on and involved due to the lack of existing support. What are your thoughts on this? Will it encourage higher #birth rates? Are you a small business that can’t afford extended paid parental leave or child care benefits? There are other ways you can still show support to working parents! Here are some ideas: 1. Allow flexibility in your employees’ work location. This gives parents the ability to save on commute times and maximize their time spent working, while allowing them to be there for their kids on sick days or fit in some unpaid labor at home. 2. Support flexible schedules when possible. Between school or daycare pickup/drop off, and all that parents have to factor in to keep tiny humans alive, flexible schedules allow families to thrive while still getting work done. 3. Show empathy. Check in during 1:1’s, give parents the opportunity to connect and share with each other, and stay informed on the latest news/policies that impact families. You don’t have to have 💰to have ❤️. #parentalleave #smallbusiness #workingparents

In Sweden, grandparents are now entitled to paid parental leave, building on a legacy of progressive family policies. The Nordic nation, a pioneer in paid parental leave for mothers and fathers 50 years ago, is now trailblazing by allowing grandparents to receive payment for caring for their grandchildren. This new legislation enables parents to transfer a portion of their paid parental leave to other caretakers during the first year of their child’s life. Notably, single parents can transfer 90 days of paid leave, while two-parent households can transfer 45 days, fostering a supportive family network. Beyond the financial aspect, this change may lead to non-monetary benefits. Babysitting grandchildren has been associated with various positive outcomes, from enhancing emotional well-being for both the children and their elders to potentially boosting brain health and longevity. #childcare #parentleave #benefits #socialservices #publicpolicy
