You wanna get earlier nights but you are struggling? It could be a number of things but remember this..... 👉 Early evening light delays your internal clock, making you want to go to bed later. 👉 Early morning light advances your internal clock, making you want to go to bed earlier. So...... 👉 get the lights off/down in the early evening as much as possible (if its sunny wear sunglasses as the sun is going to be waaaaay stronger than internal house/work lights) 👉 And get out for an early morning walk to improve your chances of earlier sleep. 👉 And do the opposite if you want to go to bed later. Do this regularly to literally train your body so that, over a short period of time, it becomes easier. (incidentally we don't think daytime light influences this much either way!) 👉 p.s. but a much bigger win is to pick an earlier wake time and stick to it, you'll be amazed how quickly this can change things for you

Good morning to this amazing platform! We often admire beautiful images like this, but what if we embraced the magic of morning light in our own lives? Beyond just being a stunning time of day, early sunlight plays a crucial role in how we move through the rest of the day. Each morning, our bodies do complex science behind the scenes—and one equation stands out. Morning light sets the rhythm for our entire day by regulating our circadian rhythm and influencing our sleep-wake cycle. How? Exposure to natural sunlight in the morning signals to your brain that it's time to wake up, kickstart cortisol production, and be alert. It resets your internal clock and preps you for the day ahead. And in the evening? As the warm hues of sunset appear, your body gets the opposite signal—it's time to wind down, produce melatonin, and prepare for rest. This delicate balance is key to our well-being. Shedding weight while I sleep! 😱 ... not really. I weighed in after dinner... And again thismorning. It looks like I started 2024 1.3kg leaner... But last night's weight was due to a lot of food and fluids. This is why it's so important to weigh ourselves in the morning, and do it consistently. Because it's normal to fluctuate 1-2kg (2-4 lbs) within a day. And we can't really tell if we're losing weight/fat... Unless we track our weekly average trend.
