It was apparent at the CGI Awards back in November that governance professionals enjoy a jolly good knees-up! Aside from getting together in the hope of winning an award, it occurred to me that there is more at play than just a good night out. ISS-Corporate examined trends in board and committee chair turnover and the participation of board chairs in committees at U.S. large cap companies as part of our #DataInFocus series. We found that, while board chair rotation is relatively uncommon within the S&P 500, turnover is more prevalent among key committee chairs, with few key committee chairs holding the position longer than 10 years. Board chairs often sit on other committees, most frequently as a member of the nominating and governance committee. Take a look at the slides below to learn more.
