☀️It’s all systems go as our team progresses TasWater’s Selfs Point Sewer Transformation Project in Hobart, Tasmania.☀️ CPB Contractors, alongside fellow CIMIC Group Limited UGL and with support from WSP in Australia, together with TasWater, as part of the TasWater Alliance, have commenced construction of a new 4.3 km pipeline between Macquarie Point, near Constitution Dock in Hobart, and Selfs Point. Once complete, it will transport raw materials to the upgraded Selfs Point Sewerage Treatment Plant. The plant will treat up to 25 megalitres of wastewater every day and will reduce nitrogen and phosphorus entering the Derwent River by 50 per cent. Construction in this area will continue throughout 2025, and we are sure our team will enjoy working in such a picturesque location #CheckOutTheView. Northern Ireland Water has announced that a £2 million improvement project at Lough Island Reavy Reservoir in Kilcoo, County Down, is progressing as planned. The work focuses on replacing the overflow spillway, which is crucial for reservoir safety, particularly during heavy rainfall. The site includes two pumping stations that supply water to the Drumaroad and Fofanny Water Treatment Works. The upgrades will enhance the supply to the Drumaroad station, which serves customers in County Down and Belfast. Currently, the reservoir’s output can limit water flow to both treatment plants during peak demand. The completed improvements will eliminate these restrictions, ensuring a steady supply even during high-demand situations. The project is expected to be finished by March 2025. The project includes refurbishing control valves, installing drainage systems, repairing spillway structures, and upgrading monitoring equipment. The work is being carried out by BSG and managed by AECOM. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e48kn7a2 #reservoir #upgrades #watermanagement

Tantivy Pump Station Upgrade - Manifold Lift
🎉 Our Water team in south-east Queensland have delivered another exciting milestone for Tantivy Pump Station! 🏡 Downer and WSP in Australia, in partnership with Urban Utilities, are completing major upgrades to the Tantivy Street Pump Station, a key part of the Ipswich wastewater backbone. Following the 2022 floods, these upgrades are crucial for existing customers and for the growing community. The team have recently installed a critical piece to the puzzle - our shiny new, stainless-steel manifold. 🔨The manifold, fabricated and welded by #Munster, ties the entire project together by acting as a conduit to direct the wastewater to the rising main to then be later discharged at the Bundamba Resource Recovery Centre. ⛓Lifting the manifold into position was a high-risk activity and required a collaborative approach between Christophers Contracting Group, Downer Utilities and Borgers Cranes to ensure the success of the lift and the safety of the crew involved. This milestone is a testament to the hard work of our team and marks a pivotal moment in the Tantivy Street Pump Station upgrades. We look forward to completing this important infrastructure for the Ipswich community.
