We’re proud to empower Women in Construction by supporting the Women Into Homebuilding Programme 💪 Delivered by the Home Builders Federation, which champions gender equality in construction, this incredible initiative provides personal development support, career advice, work experience, and mentoring to help women thrive in project management and beyond. We were delighted to welcome Silvia Melgar to Custom House, delivered in partnership with Newham Council, in #EastLondon for a long placement where she worked alongside Senior Site Manager Stuart Wright and Production Manager Shaun Perry to gain valuable hands-on experience and an insight into working on an active construction site. At Hill, we’re fully committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in the industry, and it’s inspiring to see the positive impact this programme has on breaking barriers and building brighter futures. #WomenInConstruction #DiversityAndInclusion #Empowerment #TheHillGroup

As a strong proponent of diversity and inclusion in the construction industry, I'm thrilled to see #NAWIC launch their groundbreaking Male Allies Program. Construction is the second most male-dominated workforce in Australia, and NAWIC's vision is to create an equitable industry where all women can fully participate and thrive. I wholeheartedly believe that having male allies play a crucial role in advancing gender equality and dismantling stereotypes. By actively supporting and advocating for women, male allies can help create a more inclusive society. Their collective voices calling for equal opportunity, respect, and recognition for all genders will contribute to a more balanced industry and increase the rates of attraction, development, and retention of women. I'm particularly excited about the self-paced Male Allies Program, developed in partnership with Lysander Consulting. Consisting of five digital modules, this program aims to build awareness, knowledge, and practical skills to drive cultural change within teams and organizations. As someone who has personally benefited from the support of male allies, I applaud NAWIC for taking this crucial step. Initiatives like the Male Allies Program are the kind of transformative action we need to see more of in our industry. I encourage all my construction colleagues, both men, and women, to learn more about this program and consider how they can become champions for equity and diversity. The UK construction industry is seeing more women entering the field, but there’s still a long way to go for true gender equality. Currently, women make up 15% of the workforce, and the number continues to rise, with 37% of new hires being female. However, challenges remain. Despite this, women are increasingly stepping into leadership roles and owning 13% of construction firms. Let’s work towards a future where everyone in construction thrives, regardless of gender. #WomenInConstruction #UKConstruction

👷♀️ A new era of construction is here! In February 2025, we are launching our first-ever female and gender-diverse construction course in Castlemaine - Certificate II in Construction Pathways (CPC20220). With only 2% of onsite construction workers being women, this program is a bold step towards reshaping one of Australia's least gender-diverse industries. Designed for women, gender-diverse, and non-binary individuals, it provides a safe, inclusive environment led by trailblazing trainers like Su Hauck - a 2024 Empowered Women in Trades Award Finalist with nearly 20 years of carpentry expertise. By empowering participants and aligning with initiatives like Victoria's Building Equality Policy and gender equality strategy, this course addresses workforce demands while creating opportunities in regional communities. Together, we're paving the way for a more inclusive construction industry! Full story here: https://lnkd.in/g_dcvYJV
