Thanks Australian Institute of Family Studies for inviting me to discuss how evaluation can support innovation and adaptation in social services. Thanks also to Michael Patton and Jess Dart in particular, for their work that has shaped and continues to inform our approach to evaluation in complex and dynamic environments. Here is a link to the article in the Evaluation Journal of Australasia that provides an example of how we used developmental evaluation principles to support the adaptation of our Men's Behaviour Change Program to online delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic: https://lnkd.in/eivTBZA5.

Totally agree that developmental evaluation is a really useful approach for supporting innovation and adaption. In this ever changing context it’s just going to increase in use and importance. It’s also good accompaniment for large scale reforms! Consider developmental evaluation an approach that can actually de-risk reforms! Something to ponder on.

As advocates for relational well-being, educating the public about when to seek therapy is so important. At the Institute for Relational Well-being (IRWB), we emphasize early intervention and proactive care for relationships. Key indicators may include: - Persistent relationship conflicts - Difficulty connecting with loved ones - Feelings of isolation or loneliness - Significant life transitions affecting relationships - Maladaptive patterns in interpersonal connections By promoting awareness of these signs, we aim to normalize seeking support for relational issues and prevent the escalation of interpersonal concerns. If you find yourself or someone you know experiencing these challenges, we're here to help. IRWB offers a free 15-minute consultation to discuss how our approach to relational well-being might support you or your loved ones. #RelationalWellbeing #PublicEducation #TherapyAdvocacy

What do you do with the evidence of emotional manipulation that you are able to collect? The first thing is child focused language. This is about your child and what they are experiencing, not what your ex is doing. It's just that shift from being about your ex has done this to your child is experiencing this. I use Evidence Tracker, which is part of our Get Court Ready programme, and this helps you to gather and organise your evidence. Start putting it into different categories around different behaviours. You can then point these inconsistencies out to Cafcass and the court using that framework. Ultimately what you really are going to need is an expert psychologist assessment which you can get under Practice Directive 25.
