Great to attend the Clean Cities and Possible #LondonTransport hustings yesterday. Our analysis at Solve The School Run shows that the majority of primary age school run car trips happen between 1-2 mile travel distance from school, so we asked candidates how they would improve public bus services for the school run. Too often buses are at capacity at #schoolrun times and pupils and families have to wait for several to come along. If you have a buggy (as of course many on the school run do) you'll be waiting a long time (only 2 can fit on a bus at a time .. at a push). Pupil travel distance is set to increase as pupil rolls are falling in many London boroughs, so an integrated transport approach to the #schoolrun has never been more important.
