Speaker, Author, Founder Green Imaging-Cost transparency assures you tremendous savings on outpatient medical testing nationally
As a current board member overseeing the quality of CHVP course content, I am fully engaged in taking the course myself. Today, I had an AHA moment regarding Texas municipalities, school districts, tribal entities, religious entities, and MEWAS being ERISA exempt and subject to state law regulation. Specifically, Texas House Bill 2002 could empower these entities to demand that certain exam costs be applied to deductibles and that BUCAs accept accumulators. Do you have a different perspective on this conclusion? It presents an interesting strategy for these entities in advance of adopting a much better strategy where they provide exams at a $0 out-of-pocket cost, ensuring member care, saving money, and eliminating accumulators. #Texas #Healthcare #Policy #Strategy #ERISAExempt The Cicero Institute Texas Public Policy Foundation David Balat Doug Aldeen Allison De Paoli Kelly Fristoe Rachel Means Taylor Rogers Rich Hejny Michael A. Today me and two other executives at VicSRC presented evidence at the Parliament of Victoria's Inquiry into vaping and tobacco controls. We underscored how punitive measures are only a superficial response to a crisis like this, and a better support system and a healthcare based approach should be implemented to combat this, The fact that schools are often understaffed, with current staff members not being trained to handle situations where students may approach them about an issue with e-cigarette use, how students face fear in reaching out to staff members about a vaping problem, and how students should be incorporated in the co-design process of initiatives that engage with students themselves about vaping, quitting, and support available. https://lnkd.in/gfYXXrtX https://lnkd.in/ggjtwb_c

Did you know that every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft lip or palate? Today, let's shine a light on cleft care and the incredible journey of those affected. CEO and Senior Clinical Lead Physiotherapist AAC Health Group Australia, Aged care advocate (Aged Care Reform Now, Aged Care Justice), allied health and disability advocate. Opinions are my own.
You can see why over 3000 have signed our senate petition to #saveoursuper from greedy aged care providers in just over 2 weeks just how bad the taskforce report recommendations will be for all of us if we don’t speak up just as aged care taskforce member Margaret Walsh has bravely done in this sticker below. Margaret Walsh, OAM, 78, is on the council of elders as well , and also am aged care advocate from Aged Care Reform Now . I don’t speak for Margaret but please read her words. She shares same concerns about the aged care task force recommendations I and many others do which is why I launched the petition which both Margaret and ACRN support. And Margaret would know she was on the aged care taskforce ! And her and older people’s human rights to quality care, and not being abused are clearly being ignored. Anne Connolly article below quotes Margaret and outlines why so many of us are angry and frustrated at a government and aged care minister Anika Wells that continues to deny reality. Billions more has led to less aged care than at the time of the royal commission and it’s only getting worse. “Speaking for the first time to the ABC, she says the consumer voice was "quashed", with the final report being released with changes that she didn't approve. She is concerned about how much extra people will be asked to contribute. Margaret also has a background in a leadership role in The Association of Independent Retirees so is well versed to know what she’s talking about in regards to superannuation and what older people need. And it’s NOT what the taskforce report said about older people being increasingly wealthy. Margaret said the vast majority of 85-year-olds have super balances of less than $50,000. "Many of us have scrimped and saved over the years, we haven't taken overseas trips," she said. "We don’t want a user-pays system creating two tiers and yet still not have an aged care system, where the minimum level of care is not certain and even basic services might need to be paid .” Please listen to Margaret , mine and many other advocate concerns. More money won’t mean more care, just bigger profits aged care providers. A #supertax is an #agedcaretax and an #inheritancetax. Please sign our petition and #saveoursuper https://lnkd.in/gkyb2K-R
Thank you Anne Connolly for yet another brilliant article which covers all of our concerns ! https://lnkd.in/gZnJzbtM
You might have missed them, but here are some of the big changes coming in aged care

Bridging crucial gaps…
Over my career I have helped to launch many programs - Hep C, outreach, peer training, case management programs. The Peers in the ED program with UHN would be in my top three favourite programs of all time. A big thank you to Andrew Boozary MD MPP and the Social Medicine team for their constant support. A shout out to the ER docs (Jennifer and Kate) who called me in 2019 to discuss what could be possible. Forever thankful to you Jennifer Hulme for being such a champion for peers.
