Seemingly every week there's a news cycle about creators battling LLMs over the rights for their content. Enter Created by Humans, a new platform that allows creators to license the rights to their work, and allows AI companies to legally access quality content – with creators' permission, and paying for it. We're excited to back Trip Adler, Jen Singerman, and Edward Igushev as they shape the future of AI rights management.

Cofounder + CEO, Created by Humans

Growing up in Silicon Valley as the son of a Stanford professor and a teacher, I was taught about the power of books and technology from a young age. Both of these influences led me to start Scribd in 2007 to make reading more accessible through technology. But the world has changed considerably since then. AI is advancing rapidly, which presents new opportunities for learning and productivity, as well as new challenges for writers and artists. Human creativity is now at a crossroads. Down one path, we risk a future where writers, artists, and creatives are no longer creating because there is not a business model to support them. Down the other, a world where their ideas are rewarded. I believe in a future where great minds continue to have a reason to think, dream, and propel humanity forward. That's why I'm launching Created by Humans with my co-founders Edward Igushev and Jen Singerman. We're building a platform that makes it easy for creators to license their work, and for AI companies to access high-quality, legally-sound content with the full permission of creators. The platform will facilitate the licensing of AI Rights, including creator enrollment, and support flexible terms that work for creators and AI companies of all sizes. It will be simple for any rights holder to enroll and receive fair compensation for use of their work. We will handle the complexity for rights holders and AI companies, providing a plug-and-play experience for all parties. We’re also launching The Fourth Law, a new code that helps ensure humans are incentivized to create in the world of AI. Building upon Isaac Asimov's three laws of robotics, we've developed governing principles for creator and AI relationships that include consent, control, compensation, credit, and continuous learning. By adhering to these principles, we can create a symbiotic relationship between human creators and AI, benefiting all stakeholders. Our journey begins by partnering with authors, publishers, and AI companies to ensure writers receive fair compensation for their work and ideas, and AI companies can build with the highest quality, unique content. Over time, we'll expand to support artists, photographers, actors, filmmakers, musicians, influencers, and creatives across all industries. By empowering creators to claim rights to their creations, and making it possible for AI companies to access legally sound content at scale, we can foster an environment where human creativity thrives alongside AI technology, securing a bright future for humanity. To support our mission, we’ve raised $5M from amazing investors Craft Ventures, Floodgate, Soma Capital, Rebel Fund, Slow Ventures, LAUNCH, and Ford Street Ventures. Walter Isaacson has joined as an investor, advisor, and founding author. At Created By Humans, we believe in the power of technology and the importance of rewarding those who contribute to it.
